| Buddy Belt 2 I just received a BB2 that I ordered for Gidget. She only weighs 3# and the harness didn't seem to be the right proportion for her. Am seriously considering returning it. Have researched the Puppia soft harnesses. Has anyone used one and how do you like it? Any comments for me on the BB2. |

| You mentioned in another thread that your baby has a 9.5 inch chest, so the BB2, which starts at size 2, is likely too big. She probably needs a Size 1 Buddy Belt. Only the leather editions come in Size 1.

Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | I think they're both great but the BB is by far my fave! And Maximo/Kristin is the best seller / vendor / all-around-person to buy from .

I know leather doesn't sound comfortable for a harness, but think of it like soft leather gloves or a really, really good pair of leather shoes. My boys have been wearing the classic Black Buddy Belts for close to 7 years. Some of their other colors are even softer, like the Cocoa, now replaced with Dark Brown leather.

YT 500 Club Member | Ruger has had a BB since about 5 months. Now @ 15 months it still fits. I think he can ware it forever. The more it's used it softens. By the way it's the real leather one not the BB2. Get one from Kristen you'll love it.

| I have Buddy Belts for my boys and LOVE them! I seriously won't go back to any other harness. I did use the Puppia before the BB, and they are soft, but I don't feel like they're as safe since we had a couple times one of my boys wiggled out of the Puppia. Also, the Puppia would make them cough if they pulled hard, and my guys are pullers so I didn't like that. The Buddy Belt is not high enough to irritate their trachea even when they pull, and (when using the proper size) it's escape proof! |

| Do the buddy belts run true to size. Gidget's girth is running 10 1/2 to 11. What size would she need. Her adult weight will be between 4 & 5 lbs probably on the lower end. |

Post a picture of Gidget in the BB2 that you bought and I can tell you if it is the right size. A size shot would be best. Side and top views would be good. Since your baby is only about 15 weeks old, any harness that fits correctly now is likely not going to fit when she reaches adult size.

| I would have to agree, anything you buy now won't fit later. I got Emma's a BB in pink as a puppy, she grew out of and only wore it a few times. I was able to resell it to someone (here on YT actually), so it wouldn't have seemed like a total waste of money. That's an option if you're okay with the investment now. I have a BB2 in black and its a little stiffer than the BB. I change the harnesses as I change collars (once a week at bath time) so I switch from pink to black depending on the style of the collar. :/

| Think I'm going to wait until her lst birthday to get her a buddy belt That's going to be a good indication of her adult weight |

| I bought the Puppia soft step-in harness for both my Yorkie and Biewer. I bought them in xs and have been using them for three years. I love the fact that the dogs are so secure in them. Saying that, my puppies don't get walked constantly, since we have a fenced in yard. This past winter we spent some weeks in Florida where they had to be walked several times a day. While my Biewer's coat was easier to maintain, my Yorkie, who has a long coat, got horribly matted. I spent over an hour each day trying to maintain her coat. Poor baby just sat quietly as I pulled knotted hair apart. I bought a Buddy Belt, size 2 but it was way too big (Bandit got a new harness!). I just recently emailed Chattiesmom on this site and she made me a beautiful harness that fits Smokey perfectly and doesn't let her hair mat. I would consider the puppia (I still love the harness) if your puppy doesn't have a long coat, or contact Chattiesmom and have her make a harness for you. If you invest in a BB, I would wait until your puppy is full grown since they are a bit pricey. |
