| I recently bought buddy belts for my Yorkies. They fit great and they've been walking in them with no problems. My only concern is if when they walk the rubbing of the leather under their legs hurts. They don't look like it's bothering them but it just seems like it would, doesn't it? I'm still not sure if I'm going to switch them back to their softer harnesses or keep them in these. I like that the buddy belts are totally off/away from the neck |

Think of it like shoes. Loose shoes (too big) will cause more rubbing vs properly fitted shoes. My boys have used the Buddy Belts for almost 6 and 7 years and haven't had any rubbing. We walk a lot, rack up lots of mileage. Some dogs might be more sensitive in the "armpit" area. BBs does have liners available if that is the case. I would also recommend some of the softer leather color editions of the harness. My boys prefer their classic Black, which is stiffer, but they also have other colors in their collection that are super duper soft. Max's Cocoa is like butter, as is Teddy's Butter (retired color). With long haired dogs (my boys are in full coat with all of their chest hair), I do have to make sure that I comb out their armpits before putting on the harness. Small tangles can lead to big tangles, and as with any harness, the tangled hair can tug at the skin. As long as I make sure they are combed first, we don't have any problems.
