Fromm's website says that none of their ingredients come from China. Are they not including the vitamins? You can email them and ask for us. ![]() Fromm does not contain any ingredients from China - Fromm Family Foods Maybe it was Fromm or another company that said they found a different source in Europe (who might just be a front for Chinese made products). I try not to sweat it too much. We have to eat something.

Care for a cracker with this wonderful duck pate' on it? LOL ![]() ![]() I recall reading something about other sources of vitamins, cost was the issue for the majority of brands, nearly all brands. Old article, old numbers, I was looking for one that was a little more inclusive, more than just vitamin C... but it gives one a look at the scope of the issue... aspirin, penicillin, vitamins... a bigger picture. | Nutritious and safe food is important, but so is minimizing stress. Too much stress is bad for health.

Fromm is available a few miles from the house here but at a much higher cost than alternative sources. Farmina is available in Issaquah, 10-15ish miles away, so cheaper to use alternative source also... Sounds like I'm about 20 miles north of your area. | |

| Of course there are vets who are unscrupulous. Like the one who scared me into aspirating a benign cyst. I paid $90 for this. I then learned all but very few cysts are benign. The vet wanted the $ and played on my fears. This vet also shoved dog food bags in my face over and over despite me saying that I was going to home cook for my animals regardless of his uninformed opinion on nutrition. So yep there's a markup and it's not about whether the vet charges the same as chewy. It's the repeat biz every month when I have to pick up the cans and bags of food. I could go on and on about this. Bottom line: I feed my dogs better with home cooked food without my vet bugging me. Fired that vet.

Yes RC hypo is a lab created food made from hydorlyzed soy protein. If she has allergies or food intolerance then she might need hydrolyzed for that and there is no way to make hydrolyzed food at home.

| So why are you asking me? If you're trying to walk me into an argument, please just stop. If you believe your vet, then far be it from me to tell you to disbelieve. I'll say this though....the causes of IBD are not well understood in dogs. There are "theories" and if your vet has a theory about your dog, then maybe that vet is right about YOUR dog's probable cause of IBD. The last ACVIM consensus about IBD was that there are hard and fast rules about the causes.

I LOVE Fromm as a company but their formulas in their "four star grain free" line are actually subpar IMO. I do like a few of their formulas. But Jackson has never done all that well on most of the formulas we've tried from them which is a shame, I always wanted him to. But I can't deny what works. Champion isn't really my 'favorite' company, they do shady things too, but again can't deny Jax does the best on their foods.
