I agree that it's the owner and not the dog, but I also think it has to do with their blood lines and how they are raised before you ever get your puppy. You'll see tons of post on here that say temperment is or should be a consideration for a lot of breeders when choosing their breeding stock. Hearing that, I feel that there are no guarentees that a pit puppy's parents weren't agressive and haven't passed that down to him or her. I feel terrible for this breed because I know that there are a lot of wonderful examples of this breed who wouldn't hurt a fly, but unfortunately, there is just not enough of a guarentee for me that I won't be interacting with a dog that has aggression in its lines or past.
