Ironically, I carried Bunjee into Starbucks with me today for a cup of coffee. The lady behind me was like... awww he's so cute... he's so little... is he a teacup? I replied, very nicely, smiling and with a straight face... actually he's a "venti teacup".

Actually I beleive it is the North I use to live in Minnesota and that's what I called it b 4 I moved to Florida then to Texas

That would be us Midwest folks... I think we have a few words that belong to our region.... Can anybody tell me where the nearest bubbler is?

We shouldn't let the term "teacup" bother us. For most people, this is just a term that is used to describe very small dogs....nothing more. And, for sure, a lot of our little Yorkies are "very small." They are "little teacup dogs."

No big deal!

I totally agree,,, big shocker I know.

It's just a word people. There are so many other things to get upset over. I just don't get the outrage. I don't feel the need to school people on how there is no such thing and I don't think people who use the term are stupid.

If a very small yorkie was completely shaved, it would probably be looking like a chihuahua !

They are all so precious looking, no matter what size, we love them just the same !

I wouldn't go so far as to say that people who use this term are "stupid."

We just have to realize that we have Yorkies, love them, and know a lot about them.

No one calls our little dogs "teacups" meaning it in a bad way at all. For them, it is just a term that means our dogs are very little.

Why do we let this bother us??? We should just say, "Yes, they certainly are very small."

I don't know much about horses, and I'm sure I would use a lot of wrong terms if I were talking with someone about their horses.

We may be "home-made Yorkie experts" ---but there are certainly a lot of things (including other dog breeds) that we don't know a lot about.

I don't think its so much that people use the word, but that they seem to think "teacups" are better than "bigger" yorkies. Like, Tucker is 9 pounds and you should see the look on some people's faces when I say that. I mean come on, he's not a elephant. I also think it bothers people how some "breeders" use the term then charge big $$$ for them cause they're tinier. JMO, of course.

The only people I've ever heard call it a "bubbler" were fellow Midwesterners.
I was in AZ & CO in Oct and forgetting we're the only ones that call it that, asked where the nearest one was. People just looked at me like I was nuts....

that's exactly what i mean...a lot of times, people using the term "teacup" are excited by the prospect that bunjee may be a "teacup" because he's little and when i say he's a puppy, then they give me a disappointed and apologetic "oh...".

THAT is more annoying to me than the use of the word "teacup" in and of itself.
