| Ok.. thanks for clearing up the ads thing... I was just curious. I am guilty of thinking there were "teacups" before joining this forum and another forum I visit regulary... I've learned so much from both. I have a "very small" chihuahua that most everyone still labels "teacup"....it doesn't bother me much. The lady charged the same as she did the bigger pups. |

				 | I didnt get over charged for Lady being small either (she is 2lbs at 2 years old),I guess I was lucky because now 2 years later smaller seems to be more expensive everywhere. Is that your chihuahua in the picture? If so,he is adorable!!! |

you know, i don't really mind the word "teacup" to be used as "diminutive in size" or "really small". but it does annoy me when the word is used in 2 instances...A. as if it's a breed of its own, like poodles come in standard, miniature, toy, and "teacup". or B. as if "non-teacup" or standard means less valuable, not as cute, not as special, plain jane and common. my non-standard yorkie is special damn it!! i'm also waiting for the day that "teacups" come in 3 sizes... tall, grande, and venti.

				 | We just have to remember the old bumper sticker "I see stupid people". It doesn't mean we have to be one. I find my 10# yorkies are the most huggable size of all. Of course, all my friends and visitors love Robbie because she is so tiny, but she mostly loves me. I will hand one of the boys to them, and from then on - everytime they come over they will ask to hold him, and hold him the entire time they are here. (well, they really are huggable and adorable.)

I TOTALLY AGREE ...unfortunately it does add a few hundreds or even thousands to the prices of tiny little yorkies...and doesn't always mean someone actually GETS that tiny little one either....many people have been fooled by the words Teacup and Babydoll and actually ended up with a nice cute standard yorkie...which is a very small dog to begin with

Robbie is the most aggressive of the pack. She is constantly attacking the others and holds their tails and drags along. They grab her tail or ears and pull her around, too. I always have to save her from the BIG boys who like to 'double team' her - in defense of her endless attacks. Lucky for her, she is fast.

				 | People use the "babydoll face" term here too,it means a very short button nosed snout (does it mean the same in the us?).Iv seen websites where they use it too and its also a term that ups the price I must agree that sometimes these terms can make these yorkies sound like a breed all on their own or more "special" which isnt fair. My poor Jess has a looooong snout and is no where near being a "dwarf" or "teacup" lol,and to me she is just as special. The great thing about yorkies is that each one is different and unique I love em all |

				 | bunjee will most likely grow up to be a non-standard 7+ lbs and with floppy ears to boot, but that sure doesn't stop him from prancing around the store like he's a show dog As the lucky owner of a 9 and a half pounder with floppy ears and the longest legs you've ever seen....I hear you! He thinks he's a perfect speciman. And I think so too!
