Perky , curious, wanting OUT of that cage, barky.....

Is she eating? Oh but yes! Cause if she isn't I will make a broth water from boiled carrots and green beans and boil white rice in it and bring it to her with low fat cottage cheese ....( hey that's bland)

Zoey is very picky eater I can't see her eating anything unfamiliar . They said she ate some Science Diet ID a special formula that's easy to digest. Yuk , my poor baby....and want to see if she can keep it down or how it comes out the other end....hmmmm.
I told them she had white rice and cottage cheese and kept it down already.

Anyway that's how it stands now....UPS man got away without a barky bark today and my baby girl thinks we deserted her.
And not even a phone call from primary .is this the way the vet world IS?!
No at least not here. I would definitely go down there to tomorrow and see her and try to talk to someone. Maybe bring her home and to a different vet.

She hasn't seen us since last night....don't know for sure if she will be coming home at 4.....they leave that decision up to US . Why , they are the dr....

Would visiting her then leaving be better or worse for her?!
Do they think they are deserted?
Will a little visit help or make it worse if I have to leave..
She will stick to me like glue....how can I leave that?!?
This is sooooo hard!
Ask the vet would it beneficial to Zoey for you to visit her. When one of my pups was sick several years ago, in the hospital for 4 days i didn't visit, I felt my pup would get more depressed to visit her, then leave her there. My vet called me about coming to visit her, I told her my reasons for not wanting to go, she told me it is good for the dog, gets them excited, and happy, this was 7 years ago so I really don't remember all the things my vet said my visits would be beneficial for her. That was for my dog, with your pups illness, the vet that is treating knows whats best for Zoey. Yes, it's very hard to see them and then leave them, I have been there. Check with vet. No one wants to see their lil baby in a cage with IV, and sad eyes, but if your vet says a visit would be good, put your feelings behind you, do what is best for Zoey, visit with a happy attitude as you know your baby will sense your fear. Call your vet and ask. Keeping lil Zoey in my thoughts and prayers, again you stay strong.

You mentioned she was playing in the grass. Just asking if it was fertilized or anything like that. My neighbour also has a yorkie who got sick from playing in their yard after they fertilized. Hope all goes well.
P.S. I slept at my vet's for 2 days when my previous OES was sick with no objection.

I did call 3 times yesterday , each time to ask how she is ...can I see her ...each time told when to call back. The last time I had her rice ready to go and a fresh night shirt of mine , to be told "we are closing in an hour , it's too late today, come tomorrow"....at 10:00! This has been such a nightmare. Problem is the vets present themselves as nicely nice but their help is rude rude rude. And the vet left for the day early in morn

Whoa! I want YOUR vet!!
And absolutely NO fertilizer or over spray anywhere near her area. Hubby got strict insructions for that, thanks for the mention anyway, I'm still in the dark as to what caused this...would eating an ant or beetle do it?

I did not read through the entire thread but by chance did Zoey get any people food? The reason I asked is my Sophie Kate has had Pancreatitus and her symptoms sound just like Zoey's. I know it is so scary when they are sick and I know the fear you are feeling. It took a couple of months of me figuring out what she can have outside of her food (nothing but Charlee Bear treats and a little cheese with meds).

Sophie Kate has an extremely sensitive tummy and cannot have any fats in her food at all (she has been on Hills ID for the last 2.5 with great results).

Wow. sooo sorry to hear about all this run around you are going through. My vet has visiting hours from 1PM to 5PM. they encourage you to come and visit your baby. Lucky for me my vet is a 24/7 365 day clinic, but do have set visiting hours. So happy to hear that you will visit lil Zoey, remember as hard as it will be, be anxiety free, if you don't Zoey will pick up on this and add to her stress, put on your happy face and, and do a lil happy dance when you first see her, vets know we are nuts, so happy dance will not be something new to them, well they know you are nuts if you asked to sleep in cage under her lol. to funny. Keeping Zoey in my thoughts and prayers today, and for you as well. See if they will allow you to remove her from cage and take her to your car or a pvt. place where you can spend pvt time with her to kiss and love her up. My vet said it was ok to remove her IV and ok to take her out. See if your vet will allow you to do this.

Absolutely not no human food except steamed carrots, green beans, white rice ( cause it's more easily digestible and that is on a bad day) and boiled chicken, and pumkin if she's upset-other wise it's Fromm duck and sweet potato she loves and doggy treats...like zukes, bravo, and buddy biscuits

What are Charlee bear treatsand has she been dx with pancreatitis?
Zoeys pancreas are good , she had gastritis so bad and it has to be the food and treats.....read my next post for the sake of repeating myself

They told me yesterday to call back at 10 , I did, they said she will be ready to go home at 2! I said two o clock?! If she will be ready at 2 then why not now or sooner ? Dr says 2:00, then can I come in and just HOLD her? I haven't seen her for 36 hours!.....they went " back" to see and said , no sorry......

Do you believe that...makes you wonder what goes on "back there"
Thanks for the love and prayers....

Default Zoeys home

And she is back to her old self .....bouncy, licky, alert and bright eyed and tickled to death to see us...she couldn't us lick fast enough .....all due to 36 hours of
IV s, an antibiotic , and a dog food switch. Even though I took in her own (Fromm) and offered to cook some rice in vegetable broth and bring it in if she didn't eat , which I was SURE she wouldn't eat theirs . They told me on phone they gave her theirs and I didn't believe them she ate it ....she don't even like wet.....but she did, Hills prescription ID.....I fed her some here and she loved it!

and I come home to a RECALL alert!!!!
Not on this particular line but same company ! I am so stressed out with all this dog food research I could just scream!
They are convinced it is the dog food and gave me 2 pages of their research to explain why......I will fire up the computer and do copy and pasting on here for ya so stayed tune , your going to want to hear this....I don't care now what I've heard about Science Diet , if it makes my baby well that is all that counts...
I'll hurry and get this done....

I am very happy to hear that Zoey is better and that she is home with you!

Was very worried for you and your little girl.

Looking forward to reading the research they gave you about the food. We have used Fromm for years, but we use the Chicken a la veg only. It is a lower in fat and other things than the other Fromm choices.
