| Some people don't deserve the unconditional love a dog can give. I feel so bad for this little girl.

| I would call Animal Control and file a complaint of a loose dog and tell them what you were told about a small dog without an undercoat for protection against the elements being left outside all alone, unsupervised, on a restraint to fend for itself when they are away from the home. Take pictures if you see her tied outside as tying a dog to a restraint is illegal in some states. You may be this dog's only real friend right now so how you present this to the authorities and document and f/u with it may be its only chance. This dog would be much better off with a true doglover who will treat the little thing with care and loving attention and spoil it silly 24/7.

Donating YT 4000 Club Member | I would be very leery about "helping" that baby find a new home. You know it has an owner. Even if you find it running loose and pick it up, you could be found to have committed theft. Do things the right way and get animal control involved. That way you won't wind up with a legal bill.

| Please call someone and help this little girl . This makes me so angry that someone could tie her up outside when anything could get her . I hope she will find a home that loves her unconditionally.

| Well I hope someone helps that poor little dog. When she goes into heat she is going to be a target for every un-neutered dog for miles around. I would hate to think what would happen to her tied or untied. Where I live it is against the law to tie a dog out without proper housing, food and water. Maybe you could get the humane society to look into this just on those grounds - or maybe you could ask the people if maybe the are willing to give the dog a new home. I don't know what kind of local laws they may have in your area for un-spayed dogs but surely there must be something that can be done. So many times people get a cute little puppy but have no idea of the time and care it takes to make it preform like the dogs they may have seen on some TV show they watched. Such irresponsibility is just mind boggling. |

Maybe you could offer to buy her from them....you could always do something like leave a note on their door or in their mailbox saying "I see that your dog is tied outside and is often free to roam around the streets. Would you be interested in selling her?!?? Here is my ph. number......" Or...maybe the OP could keep you informed. If she picks the pup up, perhaps she could give it to you.(After all, if she's running free and constantly getting loose, they are ASKING for someone to pick the dog up. They are lucky that it's not dead from being ran over or killed by another animal)...Or if she calls the Humane Society and they pick it up, maybe she could give you a heads up of where the dog i so you can go claim her if her owners don't do it. It would be really nice to see the pupster go to a good home!! | |

| I called the humane society and they said their is a leash law and to call the police and they will talk to them. This is all they could offer. I will check on her and if they are keeping her tied up outside during the day when it's cold I will do something. I worry about her and will do what I have to do. Will keep you informed.

| That poor little baby, I wish the owners would just do the right thing, either take proper care of it or turn it over to a rescue who will. Praying for this little ones health and safety.

| Keep me informed....like I said I live maybe an hour from you. I already have a yorkie...his name is Freddie. I was not looking for another one, but we can't let anything harm this little girl because of neglectful owners. Please do what you need to do, legally. If they won't help, then we will need plan B......Feel free to get in touch with me. |

| this happened to me a few years back, I kept finding a wandering pug. The owner kept chaining him up outside when he left to go to work, after the third time finding the dog roaming I told the owner the next time I will be taking him to the pound and he could pick the dog up there. I did this for several reasons, first to teach him a lesson since they charge you a fine, second to see if he really wanted the dog. I called to let him know the dog was at the pound and he told me he was not sure if he would pick him up, he like so many parents got the dog for his daughter who did not take care of him like she said she would, he was not that fond of the dog, found him to be a pain to take care of. I also had called the pug rescue league and told them about the pug, they planned to work with the pound when the dog cleared the waiting period for adoption. Well the owner never came for the dog and according to the pound he went home with a nice family the day after he was elligble for adoption. I like to think that story had a happy ending Few things to keep in mind, you can not grab up a dog just because it is wandering, and most rescue groups and animal shelters can not either. But the county or township shelter can. Based on my experience if you feel the dog is not in a family that seems to care, do what I did, this way the owner have a chance to step up and if they want the dog will have to pay a fine and most people don't like paying fines over and over. If they don't want the dog then you can alert other people to adopt the dog from the pound. Or like someone else suggested offer to take the dog off their hands or put them in contact with the member here that said they will take the dog. You also should tell them that the next time you find the dog wandering for it's own safety you will be calling animal control to pick it up that you are done keeping it for them until they can get home. I say this often, finding a lost dog and returning it home is sometimes so upsetting because you realize how often the dog is just loose because the owners don't really give a dam. I have returned about 4 stray dogs and it bothers me to say that I never once got that warm and fuzzy feeling of being so happy to reunite a beloved dog with their owner.
