| I prefer a yorkie but I'm not set on just a yorkie. We have a beagle and he's such a great kid dog. My mom has my Maltese I got 13 years ago. Warning with Maltese, you have to train the heck out of them. We failed to do so and he snarls and is definetely the head honcho of the house (hence why I can't have him around my kiddos). I did some research and found out that's pretty typical of the breed if you spoil them and don't let them know who's boss. Our beagle is getting old though I'd love another when he passes. I'd also love a cocker spaniel. Hubby wants a husky but I don't want one any time soon.

| I did a TON of research when my kids were small (25 years ago lol), and decided yorkies were perfect for our lifestyle. Research paid off because I adore the breed. About two years ago I adopted Stanley, a long haired Chi. He was my first non yorkie. Although we love Stan dearly, he definately has a different personality, more of a "one person" dog. I plan on sticking to yorkies from now on because it doesnt get better than perfect lol. That being said, I do plan to get a biewer as soon as I find one that fits our family. I love the coloring, and assume they are very similar to yorkies in temperament.

| Our family always had dogs from my being very young - Patch was a crossbreed, Lady (crossbreed), Scamp (yorkie), Buster & Heidi (jack Russell terriers), Tiggy (whippet), Tara (crossbreed), Skye (Border Collie) and Tina (whippet). I've always wanted a Chihuahua and think I'll probably get one in the next few years. Neil tends to get a bit tight-chested around long-coated dogs like collies & Labradors but last year we visited a yorkie breeder and she had FIVE yorkies and Neil was perfectly ok, even after 2 hours So a Yorkie puppy is a definite in the coming months We won't have her with a long coat anyway (she'd get far too muddy in the British climate ). I'd love another jack russell one day but she would have to be very smooth-coated. I also used to do obedience with Lady when I was aged 13 upwards and I've always hankered after another collie BUT, being realistic, I'm 45 now and not as fit as I was 20+ years ago and, quite apart from Neil's chest issues, I think a small breed would be perfect for us an our lifestyle now We also want a small breed that can come everywhere with us on holiday in the UK yet be perfectly capable of a day's walking......usually around 5-7 miles taken slowly and at a relaxing pace with a few stops....if needs be |

| wow I have been blown away by the answers I thought just about everyone would say yorkies are the only dog for me. I love all dogs but personally I would only want a small dog like Lola. It's great to see how many people want and have a combinations of sizes and looks Also what is shorkie?

YT 2000 Club Member | I love all dogs, but yorkies are my favorites. I would love a Maltese or a Biewer, someday! I also love the look of Bull Mastiff and their temperament is so mellow for a big dog. Over the years and growing up we have had many different dogs and my favorite is a yorkie!

| I have been owned by several large breeds through the years and now our big dog is Grace, a lab/border collie/? that we adopted when we lived in CA. We've had 2 shelties, and they will always have a special place in my heart, but ever since our last sheltie died 3 years ago I get such a pain in my heart whenever I see one... Luke is our only boy, and he's my monkey man-he's my Cavalier King Charles Spaniel. I plan to always have this breed, although when I got him 5 years ago in CA they weren't nearly as popular as now. I had hoped they would remain off the "popular" lists but no. Puff is the queen/boss/watchdog of the group. I never want to be without a yorkie-she makes me laugh every day. One minute she has the attitude of a lion and the next she's curled up on my lap making cute yorkie sounds in her sleep. I love all dogs in general, but having the smaller ones has made me more cautious with bigger dogs. I love how portable small dogs are. I find that I pick Puff up quite a bit and she and I both like that!

| We have had a beagle/basset, mixed? jack russell, black lab, wheaten terrier and now the 2 yorkies. Small, shed free, dark coloring(after dealing with the wheatens light coat), and personality plus is now the only dog for me. Yorkies forever! |

| I do have my loves but since my boys are maltese/ yorkies. I am not set on Yorkies alone, for my tiny lap dog I love this mixed breed and would get another if I want another little dog. My all time love is my Aussie, that is my breed except they shed like crazy. My Aussie is super smart, and just wants to be with me. He is my a lap dog who weighs 90 lbs (part German pointer?). My husband loves the labs, so probably the next dog would be one of those, a pound puppy that is larger in size for my husband. |

Donating YT 3000 Club Member | I am a Biewer lover. But I would just love to have a Irish Wolfhound. I think so majestic. I wanted to have like three or four. I can open the door and let out the hounds lol. But my little house could not house those big guys. It would be funny to see Galen all 3 1/2 lbs of him next to a wolfhound. I will be happy to let out the Biewers !

I just love love love yorkies, I think their personalities are awesome. Big dogs inside little bodies. So unique and quirky and strong minded. I do think other breeds are cute too - Poms, Brussels Griffons, Pekingese, Pulis, Chows....lots of breeds. So I don't know. I'll probably always have a yorkie though , they're irresistible.

I'm sure you know what's best for you, but each dog has such special personality and temperament traits, and like it is now with Maximo and Teddy, you love the individual differences. I never thought I would love another little girl as much as I loved Jolie, and then Ashley joined our family, and she completely stole our hearts. There was something truly special about our little one, Gracie, and I never expected to have another one with her special and unique qualities. Yet there are so many similarities between Katie and Gracie, and the love we feel for her is overflowing with such warmth and joy. I don't ever want to be in the place when the loss of my little girls gets easy for me. I'm so glad that the love I feel for them is so strong, and the overpowering, memories are the sweet, happy ones. I don't ever feel that one little one can replace another one, but they are often reminders of our other forever loves. I will always want a Yorkie in my life, but I've considered Havanese and Biewers, which are so much like Yorkies to me. I'm a dog lover, big and small, and I'd love to add to our family.

| I've wanted a yorkie for pretty much my entire life. I've always loved their long hair & pretty bows and how much personality they have. They're charismatic & playful & sweet... I do love all dogs, & would consider getting a dog of another breed, tho I couldn't narrow it down enough to pick one. But I know we'll also have more yorkies in the future as well!
