sorry for all of the posts I was at cheer and it was hard to say everything I needed to say with my phone! but now I feel like I might've made it seem like I don't care for Miley or like I don't want Miley and thats not the case I promise. It's just...idk...it's so hard to explain. I think it's just overwhelming because like another YT'er said for 22 years i've only been responsible for myself. I think another problem is I want to be the only person ever that takes care of her because I feel like I know the most since I've done the most research. I know my mom and dad are more than capable of taking care of her I just get really nervous Like I'd rather her get sick because of something I did wrong vs. something one of my family members did wrong (granted I don't want her sick at all but if she were to ever get sick...). It sucks knowing I have to leave her for work...I wish I could just be with her all day...I even though about buying a baby monitor that comes with an iPhone app to see her when I'm at work.

You will be ok. It is just nerves. When I got Galen he was so little. he wasn't eating as well the week before I was getting him. His siblings left. I think I drove my sweet and very patient breeder crazy with nervous questions. Once you get Miley in your arms, everything will fall into place.

Oh thats another thing...after me my breeder will probably do "question checks" on her clients haha I think I asked just about every question in the book I think it is just my nerves getting the best of me.

Yes, Nilla has always been hyperactive and quite acrobatic. For the first year or so I was constantly worried and stressed about her -- ESPECIALLY when she was spayed and wasn't 'supposed' to be jumping around. Some things are impossible, and that is one of them. She may have lasted one or two days without jumping and that was it! I would try and calm her down and just flip out constantly. I still am a bit of a worrier, really ... Everytime I go out with my husband I have to ask: "Did we close the door tightly enough? Did we lock it? Maybe we should go back and check ..." It drives him up the wall! You care for them like they are your own children. It's so much different -- even if you used to have a dog or dog(s) with your parents. Once you realize you are this baby's caretaker and they depend on you ... I think that you develop a stronger, more parental bond with them. At least that has been my experience.

I'll tell you one thing ... Your life will be changed forever once you have a bond so strong with your dog. You won't be able to imagine life without your furry sidekick! It's tough at times, and of course it is a lot of responsibility, but it is so rewarding. You get to live with your best friend, and they don't talk back to you (much )! Ha ha! All joking aside, you will be fine. You don't have to tackle this alone either -- all of us at YorkieTalk are here for advice and to cheer you on!

Make sure to have cold water for her to drink and a towel or two on hand. Nilla was so nervous and carsick when I brought her home that she threw up all over my lap. Good times! Ha ha!

I got a little travel water bottle today along with some puppy wipes. I'll pack a few towels and an extra water bottle in case she gets sick! Thanks for the advice!!

No problem! ^^ I think if my present self could tell my past self to take a towel and have it on my lap when we drove her home, I would. xD I can imagine a 9 hour car ride with a wet, vomit lap would be ... Uncomfortable ...

I think it was mostly her nerves that got the best of her, and I don't blame her! New, weirdo people taking her away in hot ol' July ... We stopped and got her some cold water in a cup and let her take a potty break, and naturally she drank, drank, drank, and didn't pee. So when we got back in the car she threw up the water ... In all over and in between my legs ... Like I peed myself. She settled down more once we got to the house. She liked running in the yard, and her breeder gave us a loofah bear that had the mother's scent on it, so we played with it outside the first time. ^^ Then she went into indoor quarantine until she got the remainder of her shots.

I think you have answered your own questions. You just needed to be helped to answer them. In my opinion, it sounds like you are ready to have this baby to love you and for you to love and nurture. Yes, there are the difficult times at first with potty training, lack of a full nights sleep, etc. BUT. This will not last forever. And all of the sweet puppy kisses and love you will have returned will be well worth any sacrifices you make. I, too, wish you luck in making your final decision.

Your life is going to change, but for the better My two get me out so much more than I did before I had them... Whether it's walks, trips to the park, getting out on the river, trips to the pet store... We are constantly on the go with the pups. It's a lot of fun!

I think its normal. Miley is going to change your life in good ways and some other ways. Its hard to take care of a puppy and scary. When I was lacking sleep once when Callie was a puppy I pulled her crate into the living room and told my mom I just can't do this anymore and was crying terribly. I was just overwhelmed and because everyone wanted this to be 100% my puppy I wasn't getting much help and really needed sleep. My mom would watch her for me so I could get an hour nap every day but sheesh puppy hood is hard and I wish I had this site when Callie was a pup. It will all be worth it though she will give you unconditional love even if you don't do something perfect.

You just took the thought's right out of my brain...although I am her primary provider it's literally like my family wants me to be the only one that provides for her. I work 3 jobs and she can only go to 1 of those jobs.
