| ![]() ...I'm starting to realize how much my life is going to change getting her Saturday. For so long it's been just me and I've been able to pretty much do what we I wanted but now I have to think about Miley. I feel like I'm about to have a human baby! Bittersweet feelings ![]() |

| ![]() I'm sure that's normal! Especially if you've never been the sole provider for another life before. It's nerve wracking but once you have her, you won't be able to imagine how it was before she was with you. It'll be okay!

| ![]() Yeah it's been just me for almost 22 years! I love her to DEATH and I still want to get her. This all started last night when lily (the dog I'm dog sitting) decided she basically wanted to make an attempt at suicide to get to me! I was laying on the bed and she wanted to get up on the bed but she had just had a bath and was wet so I didn't want her on the bed (she freaks out about the hair dryer so I let her air dry a little). I took away her stairs so she couldn't get away she literally cried for 30minutes before she decided to jump on top of the ottoman which was a good distance away from the bed. She crocheted down ready to jump and I freaked and screamed Lily no!!! She began barking really viciously so I got up and blew dry her sooner than I wanted. She hates the dryer of course. I then realized I'm really going to be taking care of another life. |

YT 500 Club Member | ![]() You'll do just fine. One of the GREAT things about these little guys is you can take them so many places with you. We haven't had to change that many things to adapt. Not to mention all the love and laughs they give. Being a yorkie owner definitely has a ton more pros than cons. ![]() ![]() ![]()

| ![]() I have not read any of your other posts, so not sure what your lifestyle is like or the reasons you would like a dog. So I have a few questions, not that you have to answer me, just yourself honestly. How old are you, do you live alone, do you go out a lot, how much time are you home, if you are not home much now, are you willing to stay home more. do you have extra disposal income to take care of vet bills, are you secure in your job, do you have friends and family to help you out if the need arises. All these things and more need to be thought about. Personally 30 years ago I was in my late 20's when I got my first yorkie, I don't think I had any reservations and was SO ready to make lifestyle changes, but only a year or two earlier I would not have been ready. Good luck with your choice.

| ![]() The first year I had Max was like having a human baby, a highly mobile baby. He made me cry a few times pulling kamikaze stunts (I thought "how on earth am I going to keep this puppy alive?!"). But the good far outweighed the challenging stuff. I believe it is realistic to think how your life will change. Nothing wrong with that.

| ![]() Yes, it can be normal to have the feelings you are having. Everyone is different and feelings, like opinions, are different to each person. However, as the others have stated, the good far outweigh the bad with these little ones.

![]() ![]() These are questions that you need to seriously consider before you get your baby. There have been several young ladies that thought they wanted a Yorkie, but then, they VERY quickly came to realize there was no more spontaneously jumping up and going with friends...you have a little dog to think about....no more running off to the beach for a long weekend, without thinking about what you are going to do with the puppy....these young ladies became so disenchanted with the wonderment of being a yorkie momma, and they became resentful of the poor little soul. Dont do that...if you know in your heart that you are going to resent the puppy curtailing your comings and goings, put off getting a puppy....baby doesnt deserve that! | |

| ![]() It will change you for sure but, it's well worth. After a short time you'll wonder what you did before you got her..... |

| ![]() aw, don't worry. This is totally normal. And wait til you get another one- that's a whole new ballpark. There's sometimes when I still think "what have I done??" but 98% of the time I am thinking how lucky I am to have such wonderful little creatures in my life. Is Miley still a puppy? Once they are out of the puppy stage its easier to leave them alone and go out more. Doggie day care is a great alternative if you feel too guilty- they play all day with their friends and you go play with yours. It'll get better.
