Just read this whole thread. And so happy you stayed with jax. He could very well be pure yorkie. They can all look so different even out of same litters. He is adorable and I look forward to watching him grow. |
Awwww! Puppy love is a wonderful thing, and it looks like you're in it. :D I think Jax will be fine with Toby...they'll work out their puppy play. Play is the work that puppies do, and they learn valuable skills from it. I'd just watch and intervene if it gets too rough...I wouldn't want accidental injuries. Jax will get bigger. About the howling...not sure what age I'd expect to see that. Some dogs never howl, so I wouldn't even guess on that one. Since Jax is already doing it, I'd guess this is normal for him. :D I hope sleeping with you allows you to get some rest. Looking forward to more pix of your kids. :) |
To answer your question about howling and just plain loud I will have to dig out a picture of my almost 6 month old female Stella... She will pierce your ear drums when she gets going :p But I am so glad you decided to stick with Jax.. These little guys change looks so much as they get older and anyways by that point they will have you so wrapped around their paws you would not care if they went bald you would still love them to pieces!!! |
Oh wow, I just saw you're keeping Jax! I think that's the best for the little guy! On the one hand, I'm pissed you got lied too/taken advantage of, but you obviously bonded with him, and more importantly, him with you!. He needs a loving stable home. So many folks on here have made (in hindsight) a questionable decision about how they got their yorkie puppy, but trust your instinct now. Water is under the bridge & that loving little guy looks to you for his whole world. Lesson learned, but love that baby, cuz he deserves it! |
Glad your keeping jax! Purebred or not, doesn't matter... It's the unconditional love that these little guys offer! Hope y'all sleep well tonight! |

As for shampoo, make sure it's tearless. I'm glad u decided to keep Jax, good luck. And be sure to post lots of pics :) |
If your puppy is only 8 weeks old it is perfectly normal for him to be very unhappy and howling up a storm. He wants his mom and litter mates to cuddle with. It is a difficult thing for a pup that young to be taken away from the only home it has and go into a strange place. I sure would not put him in with your other pup. He is a baby and needs to be held and cuddled to make up for not having the litter to cuddle with. For the next couple of months you have an infant to take care of. It may not be easy but the poor little guy needs a momma and you are it. Maybe you could try making a bed on the floor and camping out with him for a few nights until he gets more comfortable with hiss new home. |

As far as the barking, yes some yorkie pups can be very vocal. The play fighting is normal. Is Toby a lot bigger than Jax? You just have to be very careful that Jax does not get hurt accidentally. Also do you have plans to get them both neutered? Often unneutered males will eventually start fighting. Hopefully your two will become big buddies. Best of luck with your boys. |
Coming back online to yt feels so great, you all are very positive pet lovers and are very good people. You all have made my day and in return I will keep posting pictures and videos as he gets older :) perhaps he will surprise all of us who knows :) anyhow, little Jax is the alpha toby is not so much... That I can tell because jax takes his toys from him and is the more aggressive one. Toby is more cuddly and affectionate while jax is still cuddly but at the same time very jealous and protective. Around what age will jax hair begin to change or show his adult coat ? Also at what age more or less will jax stop growing? I wish to take him to the dog park sometime, should I wait until all his shots are given? |
I would wait 2-3 weeks after all shots are completed before exposing him to other dogs. Then make sure he is on a harness and leash for quick extractions from possibly rough or vicious dogs or situations. Personally I'm afraid to take my dogs to the dog parks. Maybe the ones in your area are better. I've had to friends who's dogs were killed at a park. One a small chihiuaua(I never could spell it) and another hwe maltese. |

I am so glad you like it here and did not take offense when many of us started suggesting what breeds Jax could be mixed with, but it seemed like you really wanted answers. LOL sometime people post on here only want to vent and then all of us come rushing on with our opinions. This forum is broken down into many sections, to me it is sort of like chapters in a book, look them over because with a new puppy there is so much information that will be helpful to you as he grows. It is so nice to read how happy and excited you are with Jax, we all look forward to see him grow, so promise not to leave us:D |
