Jax is adorable. The other ear could still come up if you work with it. Massaging the ears will also help with getting them up? What is Jax's date of birth? He looks much older than a 2 month old pup.

He does look like maybe he is trying to give us a signal of some kind with that one ear up!

I didn't get to meet the parents although was told he was born on February the 7th. Around what age does he look to be you think? He is teething now.. He doesn't have a full set of teeth yet.. He is boring everything even poor toby.

Maybe I have my threads mixed up. I thought he was two months old? If he has some of his adult teeth in he would have to be at least 5 months.

That would still make him too young to have so adult teeth. I don't know what is going on. Maybe he is not going to be such a big guy after all if he is really older than what you thought. He does look large for 2 months but there are some big Yorkies being sold these days. I guess it's going to be a waiting game for you and Jax.

It makes me sad because I will never known how old he really is if the information I was given was accurate.. I thank you for the help though :)

Those sure look more like adult teeth to me than baby teeth. But maybe its just the pictures.

Yes, I was taken aback by the teeth too. Either they lied about his age, or Jax is very precocious. At least the ears stand up around the time adult teeth come in, so that checks out. It looks like there might be something shady about the person who sold you Jax--maybe falsified records?!? If it were me, I'd have the DNA purity test done (remember the link to the Wisdom Panel website I gave you earlier), get a signed statement from the vet about the adult teeth coming in at 3 months and his best guess as to Jax's true age, and if the vet thinks the breeder was lying to you, I'd report the breeder to the AKC and get their credentials revoked. That's just the activist in me ;). BUT, keep Jax, because he is adorable, plus he's a hero if he can nail a bad breeder :). Don't be sad, though.

my feelings exactly, I believe the OP said he could have had papers if he wanted them. People keep commenting on the look of the parents, I myself have never been convinced those were the parents, probably just some random photos of dogs that the breeder may or may not have had.

When you went the vet he or she should have been able to address the question of age, because of the teeth. Did you discuss that with the vet. I am assuming you don't want to name the breeder publicly but you should share it with some people on here that know how to investigate questionable breeders. This would not only help you get answers but perhaps keep someone else from being taken advantage of, and maybe even shutting down a puppy mill or turn in a dishonest AKC breeder.

Pups just don't get adult teeth at 2 or 3 months of age. That is why I'm thinking maybe Jax is so large because he is actually older than we thought at first.

If you love your little Jax it really doesn't matter that he is older or larger or whatever. He is a cute little doll.

We have seen more than our share of people that have been ripped off by "Yorkie" breeders. One person had a pup with totally short hair and wondered when the pup's hair would start getting longer. It is really sad that people do this kind of thing. That is one reason why YT always stresses finding a reputable breeder first. Of course not many know how to do that. When a breeder tells you they have been breeding for 20 years you tend to think they must know what they are doing. However, they could have been breeding really poor stock all those years or they could actually be brokers. Brokers sell pups for puppy mills. They have several dogs at their home at all times so they can look like breeders.

It's up to you as far as what you want to do about the breeder. If it were up to me I would put them all out of business. I hate seeing dogs and puppies being exploited for the sake of some person's greed. I also dislike seeing people get ripped off by them.

You could just chalk it up as a learning experience. Jax is a cutie and hopefully will be a great pet and friend for your other little dog.
