| That's the thing with Yorkies...they know exactly which hearts to melt, and how to accomplish the task. Thank you for helping this little girl...if you are unable to return her to her previous home and keep her, I like Rogue. But seriously, when I was a kid we had a girl we named "Princess" and she could outrun the thought process, ate more than half a dog food can once...after figuring out how to pry the lid off a tin garbage can, figured out how to get on the kitchen counter to eat 3 thawed but unrised loaves of bread, and more. No confusion there between "Princess" and "Prissy" cuz she was anything but prissy. ![]() My Yorkie boy is both 'Mr. Huff and Puff Macho' and " Mr. Prissy"..."oooooh....oooooooh...wet grass...ewwwww...pick up, mommy, pick up...carry me...no, not there...over there"...but my (golden) Yorkie girl...nope, nowhere near that much although she does seem to be trying to learn a little prissiness from my boy. Hi, and congratulations on being selected by this little girl!

| I am torn about what you should do for this little girl. Either call the shelters to see if anyone is looking for her, call the local Vets. and check there too, look in all newspapers to see if there are any missing Yorkie listed, take out an ad yourself and just say small dog found, please give details. If no one claims her in 10 days, then take her to Vet. and have her spayed and chipped. Her larger nipples could mean she's already pregnant, but it can also be eclampsia, which is common in small breeds. Either way, she should have a check-up as soon a possible. If any owner does come forward after, then give them a copy of the Vet. bill and ask that they pay you before taking the dog. Maybe they don't want to spend anything on her care, (and will just let you have her) and is the reason she was not in good shape when you found her. But then the flip side is that she could have been lost for quite awhile.

| If her nipples are large she could have been in heat and since she was at large she could also be pregnant. I would take her to a vet a much larger dog than her could have mated with her since shes been out and that would be a problem pregnancy. I dont know if a vet could tell you anything this soon but I would still make the appt

| She will be brought on Monday to the vets, as that's when we will have a car. I keep checking Craigslist and in the paper! We feed our dogs taste of the wild... is this okay? |

I'm glad you're still looking for the owner and you might have your vet do a scan for a microchip, many dogs have them. Here's an excellent article on what to do if you find a lost dog. http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/mis...ir-owners.html The main point is to always think "lost not stray." | Taste of the Wild is certainly better than many of the cheaper brands out there. I hear some types of TOW are better than others. If she is pregnant talk to your vet about possible supplements. Hope that is not the case though. |

| The girlfriend didn't even want ONE dog, but I convinced her to let me get a sheltie (she has a soft spot for them.) We took in the blue heeler from a neglectful home, two hours there to get her, two hours back with a dog caked in fecal matter and urine she was skinny as could be, she's happy, healthy and fat! (We are trying to find her a home.) Now this little angel shows up, and might be pregnant oh how thrilled she would be! A bit grumpy she decided to bark at everything last night, and keep me awake! |

| Donating YT 500 Club Member | Ya big macho tattoo covered marshmallow....this little girl so has you wrapped round your paw. My hubby keeps telling everybody he meets, I never had a wee dog before, I always had real dogs like Staffies and Rotweillers. Yet he takes Alfie out wearing the pyjamas he wears cos of his allergies, doesn't care who looks at him, helps me with his baths, Alfie sleeps on his knee most nights. Face it you are now officially this girls snuggle bunny..

| Thank you for taking in this cute little one. If you do find the owners , I would totally ask how long she had been missing..bc if she was just lost recently, then her nails def. shouldnt be ask long as you describe.

What would we do if it were one of our dogs? We take too many cautions so this wouldn't happen to be honest, we would have posted on Craigslist, put up flyers, and most importantly walked door to door, we'd be ACTIVE around the clock looking for them. We keep our dogs nails clipped. | |
