| Maybe she wanted some BREED SPECIFIC advice from folks who might have experience with tiny little babies. Why the 3rd degree when she's obviously trying to help the little guy? Isn't that what's important at the end of the day?

| I quite agree. This is the best place to come for support and understanding the breed so perhaps that why she reached out to YT. I'm so glad this pup came to her attention and that she came to this forum for advice.

| First off... I am free to say what I like. Secondly, I am in no way giving her the third degree. If the real 'third degree' people decide to post here you would see my questions do not compare. When you see these crazy stories people post here that make no sense and you never hear the outcome of the pup after... hmmm... I think the most recent one I saw was a dog who ate something poisonous and has been throwing up for days and should they take them to the vet because their 'limp'...? You'll start to question too and wonder if people are trolling or something to explain why things don't add up. I will always answer these emergency posts if no one has given an answer, but that does not mean I can't question the legitimacy if something doesn't add up. I doubt I am the only person who feels something is off here. I just choose to mention it. MY choice.

| Let’s not make this into a back and forth conversation. The OP came here looking for help- Let’s help to what we can and save the other stuff for another day. OP- I hope and pray this sweet little baby gets better soon.

| The point of me saying that was me wondering where is the support system for this extend rescue operation that is run through a pet store? Is the pet store incompetent in caring for the lives they are supposed to be saving? Aren't their regulations on these things? Coming to yorkie talk is not the problem. Coming to yorkie talk because she doesn't have the proper support and resources is. From what she has said, she did not just get a pup and bring them home. This is supposed to be a professional arraignment with the backing of a pet store, rescue, and vet. Is there not a policy on how to care for one of these fosters at home? Who to call? Emergency vet number? This concerns me.

| I'm not questioning anyone's freedom of speech on this board. I simply felt that certain posts were unnecessarily abrasive and accusatory. I'm out. Good luck to the OP.

| Questions lead to answers. Assuming is another. I just ask in general. Din't even ask the OP specifically. Your entitled to your opinion.

I ♥ Joey & Ralphie! Donating Member | I’m concerned because I don’t believe a reputable rescue works this way. The OP says, Quote:

| Well, for the sake that this situation IS real, I commend the op for taking the pup home and getting it to the vet right away. I also hope the op does not vanish, because I would definitely love to hear the outcome of this poor little guys story!!! Op, what is the name of your organization?

| It may be that the original owner knew this puppy was sick and decided to drop it off thinking maybe someone else would foot the bill for her. I am concerned that if this puppy is actually the age the vet estimated that it may have one of the many genetic issues that Yorkies tend to carry. If so I don't think this pet store is ready to handle the kind of vet fees this puppy would incur. Maybe consider contacting a Yorkie rescue that might be able to help this poor baby. Rescues tend to get stretched to the max so it could take time to find one that has room for it. It might be a good idea to start looking now. If it turns out the puppy is fine then no harm done. I am suspicious because it would be very unusual for a breeder of purebred dogs just drop off a Yorkie puppy unless they knew there was a problem. |
