| I was told a long time ago that AKC or any other papers mean little in determining whether or not a dog is purebred and then given a few lessons in what really goes on sometimes with litters and substitutions and on and on until I was sick and said "Enough".

| If you have any doubt whatsoever definitely DNA test before you sell these puppies. Last week I paid a substantial amount of money for Baxter. Breeder claims he's 100% pure bred. After posting pics of him on here a lot of people, myself included question it. It may be somewhere in his lineage is Dachsund or something else. We could be wrong & he turns out to be full Yorkie. But if he's not, it really upsets me that someone charged me so much money for a non pure bred puppy. She obviously had the opportunity to get impregnated by another dog or you wouldn't be questioning it. I (obviously) am not one to tell you if your puppies are full Yorkie & am not lecturing you. I just ask that before you sell any of those pups to please test them. They will make somebody very happy someday even if they are half Yorkie. I would suggest if you are not testing them to just place them in good homes & not charge for a full Yorkie. Good luck & I know how you feel trying to find everything you can to make sure. Only time will tell. I do realize, like me, you just wanted everyone's advice. You've never said you intend to sell them. I just had to share my story with you so that in CASE you did, to PLEASE test them! Again good luck!

| ♥Love My 3 Furrbutts♥ Donating Member | Sorry but I don't understand your question....only you could know if she was perhaps bred by another dog other than your yorkie??? Were you with her 24/7? Was she around another dog? I'm sorry if this comes across as mean, but i'm flabbergasted....how could you not know??

| Do you know if your male and female are purebred Yorkies?

![]() If there is another breed in their lineage, even way back,it could come out in the pups.I owned yorkie that I paid full amount for and turned out she had part dachshund in her.The breeder had tried to "breed out" a mistake and it didnt work. Those dachshund genes kept making their way back.

| This doesn't surprise me at all...and I think we are going to see more and more offshoots or throwbacks or whatever with all the "designer" breeding that's been going on over the last several years...

| I would like to thank everyone for the replies, care and concern! I have learned in the past few hours after reading the replies and badgering my husband, that yes indeed, our female was found in our front yard one day when he returned home from work (he neglected to tell me this) and yes it was while she was in heat! My husband had let them out into the backyard in the morning and forgot to bring them inside! !!!! So yes there is a GOOD chance they are not our male yorkies babies ..... First thing in the morning I will be calling our vet to get parental DNA testing and thankfully my mother, is willing to take in both puppies WITHOUT papers (I will not register them) when they are ready to be weaned, should they turn out NOT to be our males pups! I can only be thankful that our female "Miley" had a successful birth without any complications as it could have turned out so very badly for her!! I have attached photo's of our male "Indi", second photo is our female "Miley" and the third is a picture of the second born pup...I will also be sure to post the results of the DNA testing! Thank you everyone! |

| Donating YT 10K Club Member | You don't need to go to your vet's for DNA testing. There are several genetic testing sites on line. Google it. It only involves a mouth swab. You will need to do your sire, dam and the pups. Good luck.

| Thank you for responding and for looking around the site - lots of information to be ingest here. Glad your little girl had no problems with the welp. Your male and female are both beautiful and the puppies are adorable. I am interested to see what the DNA shows the pups are, if they are Yorkie or if they are mixed. If I were you, I would slap DH upside the head for forgetting to bring the babies back in after he left them out. I'm hoping he's learned a lesson. Welcome to YT and please keep us updated on the pups - we do love pictures here.

![]() My husband would be in SO much trouble, and not only due to the pregnancy, but because if another dog was able to get to her that easily,it means that she could have also been stolen ![]() Male dogs will literally do ANYTHING to reach a female in heat, their instinct is so strong that they cannot resist it.I have seen two dogs mate through a fence! How they did it? I have no idea, but they always find a way. I´m not sure that the pups are yorkies,in the pics it looks like they have golden highlights all over their body and they have no yorkie markings,so I think that a DNA test will just confirm that.I´m just glad they are going to have a home and that your girl had no issues delivering them

| Glad to hear your babies have homes. Mom and Dad are beautiful and so are the pups. Let us know if you find out who the dad is. Whoever it is, I bet they grow up to be cute. Scold your husband for leaving them out unattended. Someone could have stolen them or a hawk or other predator could have got them. |

| Donating YT 3000 Club Member | I am so glad she had a good welp. If she go pregnant from a larger dog, it could have been disastrous. Please explain that to your DH. The puppies are very cute. I am glad you found homes. Please let us know that the DNA testing said. Welcome to YT.

| The pups are very cute, and your Miley extremely fortunate to have made it safely through the whelping! PLEASE consider having your dogs neutered soon, so there will not be any more accidents. Oh, and if that were my MY husband, he would be in the dog house for a loooooooonnng time
