My husband had let them out into the backyard in the morning and forgot to bring them inside! !!!! So yes there is a GOOD chance they are not our male yorkies babies ..... First thing in the morning I will be calling our vet to get parental DNA testing and thankfully my mother, is willing to take in both puppies WITHOUT papers (I will not register them) when they are ready to be weaned, should they turn out NOT to be our males pups! I can only be thankful that our female "Miley" had a successful birth without any complications as it could have turned out so very badly for her!! I have attached photo's of our male "Indi", second photo is our female "Miley" and the third is a picture of the second born pup...I will also be sure to post the results of the DNA testing! Thank you everyone! |
Oh, goodness! Your girl is fortunate to have lived through the whelping. What if the male had been a very large male!!! I know a Bassett Hound can dig under ANY regular fence. I'm sure your vet would have caught it and told you that she had oversize fetuses and scheduled a C-section but boy, do you need to have a talk with your husband about what can go wrong when a female in heat is outside in the yard, even with a fence. Males will find their way into yards with females in heat in the most impossible ways. Glad she is okay and I am so glad the pups will have a loving forever home even if they aren't purebred Yorkies.
