| Can you get these at PetSmart? I have also given mine the sweet potato chews. They really like those, but hard for me to find locally.

| No Bully, No Bones. I have always been in the minority about bully sticks and natural bones. We don't use them. We make homemade jerky and dehydrated veggies and fruits. We also use Kongs and teeth cleaning (fully digestible) Greenies. My Vet is very against bullysticks and natural bones for Yorkies and other toy dogs. She told me 'the the stink, germs, cracked teeth, punctured gut, intestines, throats and other problems she has seen because of Bullysticks and Natural Bones are not unusual. The chewing pleasure the dogs get, is not worth the risk'.

| My vet is more against Greenies then he is against Bully Sticks because of how many small breed dogs he has had to fight to save or some he lost due to blocked intestines and having to remove parts of his intestines from Greenies.

| Peanut use to get them.. However his tummy can't tolerate them. Now he doesn't get any type of "chew" and he is 100% happy and doesn't miss them!

| I took Callie's bully sticks away when her tooth broke which was not due to bully sticks and didn't give them until two weeks after it was fixed and she was very sad without chews and depressed. Chewing is very important for dogs both my vet and the dental vet told me that.

| Dogs can eat raw food and humans can not.

| I took those things away from Jilly after she choked and stopped breathing on the way to the vet from a rawhide chew. She was very depressed and unhappy but in time we worked through it and she accepted the new norm for her and spent the rest of her life "chewless" and was a happy Yorkie again in time. It's a hard habit to break.

| Dogs are susceptible to bacteria. But when a dog goes in puking they will probably get a shot of Cerenia and fluids, not a acteria workup. They may be more resistant, but they are most definitely affected. C. diff. would be a major concern for me. To each their own. I'm glad Dr. Freedman looked into this and agree with her findings and concerns. My dogsc are happy without them. They have something else to chew on.

| Here is some info from Best Bully about how they process their bully sticks. I had not realized that they cook theirs. That may be why they are so much stronger than the other brands. How are Bully Sticks made? Does eat meat. It's just how they are. It may be an unappealing part of the anatomy but it's very lean and quite healthy. They are not to be eaten but chewed for a very long time. |

| I give Buster the Moo Bully sticks Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) as I liked that their cattle was hormone and antibiotic free. They are also packaged. I used to give Buster Merrick Flossies but they and the Red Bard are in open packages at my Pet store. They are kept on the bottom shelf and I would watch them mop the floors at the end of the night with disinfectant. It worried me that the mop would splatter the boxes and with the dust etc would stick to the Bully sticks. The Moo bullies are soft and Buster can chew through one in an evening. My concern is more with the calories as we are trying to get the weight off of Buster, not that I am not concerned about the possible bacteria as well. I have been thinking about getting a dehydrator and making veggie Bullies out of carrots and sweet potato.
