I took those things away from Jilly after she choked and stopped breathing on the way to the vet from a rawhide chew. She was very depressed and unhappy but in time we worked through it and she accepted the new norm for her and spent the rest of her life "chewless" and was a happy Yorkie again in time. It's a hard habit to break.
