| I would also suggest drizzling a tiny bit of chicken broth over the kibble. When my Mandie wasn't feeling good after surgery and didn't want to touch her kibble..I did this and it worked like a charm. She ate it all up and asked for more Also, thank you for rescuing that darling little one. Can't wait to see pics! Welcome to YT!

| Hello and welcome from the UK! I too love to see our Littlies really tuck in to their food - I personally home-cook for our Harry but the only kibble he'll eat is Royal Canin breed specific.....he grazes on that during the evening.... it actually smells quite scrummy!!!! Good luck! Sally + Harry x |

| Hi and Welcome to YT! I feed moistened kibble mixed with canned, and some added veggies and fruits. ask your vet about Balance-it, adds all the missing nutrients to home cooking...

| Apparently Yorkies do tend to be picky eaters. There is a health and diet section here on YT that you can get more ideas from. Many are moving away from foods that contain a lot of grain. Most Yokies are not big eaters so you want to make sure they are getting the proper amount of nutrition for their size. Some areas have all natural pet food stores now. I have to drive 35 miles to get to the one nearest me. It's worth it though. I'd rather invest in a good quality food than have to invest in some big vet bills a few years down the road. |

Donating YT Addict | We rescued Waffles Or should I say she rescued us LOL Anyways, when we got her she was on breeders choice, vet changed her to science diet she refused to eat, then i put her on wellness she ate for one week then refused to eat, vet said shell eat when shes hungry that went on for 3 weeks, she lost 2.1 pds and I put her on Nutra Ultra grain free. She likes it, eats it, begs for it and is up to her ideal adult weight of 9 pds (Yorkie-poo). BUT I dont like noises her tummy makes on it, sometimes good poos sometimes a bit off, throws up several times a week undigested food. Im going to feed store tomorrow to find another food after looking at reviews of nutra. People on reviews are complaining of their dogs doing same thing and some getting quite ill. IF I had a menu to follow that would keep her healthy and give her EVERYTHING she needed FOR SURE I would cook for her in a minute! Vet isnt for it. Said dog food is better for her. I dont agree. There seems to be no regulation on dog food compared to people food. Seems it would be safer to cook for her. oopsy.. sorry to blabber!!

I don't cook for her much anymore. She is on a commercial grain free raw diet. Vets' don't like the idea of anything except commercial kibble because that is when they use in all the veterinary colleges. The pet food companies donate money and product to the schools. Then they give the vets a lot of perks for using their products when they go into business. Pet food is a multimillion dollar business. With all the recalls and suspicious deaths of dogs that have eaten those jerky treats it may be time for pet owners to take a real close look at what they are feeding their pets. | |

| Thank you so much, I have ordered multi suppliments from "Pedmeds" i have read on here that another Yorkie owner has ordered and were great, I bought Parker "dog-chow (made by purina) and add lil chicken to it...i just put a lil out (1/2 cup or so) at all times to make sure he is eating it....I did find out he LOVES Parmesan cheese, so i sprinkle a lil on his food and he loves it..(Big-Grin) |
