| small towns are hard because someone will either know or be related to anyone you might have a conflict with so having a relative talk to them about "how hard having a dog might be for them" might work best., she could say things to them that would make it seem like she and others understood how hard it is on them with the dog escaping all the time. LOL it would be sort of play acting on being sympathetic, something like; "I know it's been hard on you with coco getting out all the time, if it's to much for you, don't feel bad as there are lots of people that choose not to own a pet for those type of reasons. You should not have to keep going through this over and over again. I could help you if you want because I know people that can help you find Coco a new home" This way it comes off as helpful not combative, which like you I would like to be.

| I say don't suggest money unless it is the last resort, people like that sound like they could turn greedy and then wind up not giving the dog up because they can't get what they think he is worth. I would take the tack of helping them out of situation that they don't want to be in and not give him a chance to start thinking about making money off the dog. Say things to him like finding a good home for adult dogs is not always easy but I will help you out..........

| I agree with Nancy, maybe you could ask the co-worker for an introduction under the premise that you are so fond of Choco and want to get to know him better. I believe in being honest, but I also believe you catch more bee's with honey and approaching them in friendly way may be this little guys chance to go to the home of a more experience Yorkie owner. I fully understand your fear of finding him on the side of the road, I have experienced the same fear. Keep us posted and I will keep good thoughts for Choco.

| sounds like to me that this family does not want their yorkie, or care about his safety. I would nicely knock on their door and try to have a conversation with them about rehoming coco to you , or someone else, if you are not able to keep him could he still be at your home for safety reasons? then rehome him on your own? At least the little guy would be safe. My Suzi slipped out the front door last week, and ran right accross the parking lot to the manager. She loves the manager, thankfully , I was able to just go get her accross the parking lot, and the manager held onto her, while holding onto her own dog. Yorkie's are so small and very fast, all of have to be so careful. It is sad when a owner does not care, and is willing to allow their dog to wander off into busy streets and not care .
