| I am so UPSET!! Some of you may remember my thread from a month or so ago..http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/gen...rk.html...well long story short, one of the girls in customer service called me in tears...she said there was a yorkie crossing the four lane in front of our bank. Traffic in all directions was stopped and he missed getting hit by inches. I ran out the front door into the parking lot..one of our customers had caught him. IT WAS CHOCO!! I knew how to get in contact with his owners..from the last incident The man came this time..when he came in the door..first off he called Choco STUPID then proceeded to say he had let him out to chase a squirrel I was irate I know..I told him first he isn't stupid and second you don't let a yorkie out to chase a squirrel or anything else. I told him next time he will probably be killed. After all this what would you do if it happens again?? My gut tells me to not give them a call. I am so beyond upset right now over the entire situation.

| OMG!!!! What is wrong with people!!! I wouldn't call them again. I know that sounds terrible but apparently they don't care much about him. Or they would not continue to put him in dangers way!!

| Michelle, I am so sorry you have to endure this stress. I would be sick to stomach because I'm sure there is a legal obligation to give the dog back, but you know it is not in the best interests of the dog. This poor baby's future does not look good.

| I know some will say it is wrong to keep the dog and I sure don't believe in stealing things but there is such a thing as protective custody. Hold on to CoCo. See if this guy puts and ad in the paper or does anything to try to get him back. I suspect he is not going to put himself out to get the dog back. |

| You are probably right. However, what about calling animal services? Do you have anything like that?

Zachary's Mom Donating Member | I don't think it is wrong to keep the dog. Is he small enough you can train him to use peepee pads so he won't have to go out (unless you have a secure, PRIVATE yard)? Have him groomed TOTALLY different and change how he looks completely. Is this jerk likely to come over and LOOK for the dog??? I would NEVER give it back to him!!!!!!!! An angry, Louise |

that is what I am thinking!! I would call a rescue group and turn him over.. itsn't it funny but you just didn't reconized that the pup was coco.. how odd don't keep him yourself.. he may find out and take him and you would possibly get into trouble.

I have a bad feeling that next time Choco isn't going to be so lucky as to end up here at the bank. He was seen on two of the busiest 4 lanes in our town this morning, so he had to have been running our free for at least an hour or more (and they didn't even know he was gone when I called them.

| Honestly, I'll take a page from my ex's handbook on how to get a dog in 30seconds from the owner. Go and kindly, not condescending, talk to the owner and tell him what you have to offer a fenced in yard, (with plenty of squirrels to chase safely) a nice home and other yorkies that would be happy to play with them, ...when all else fails....offer them a "rehome fee". I think under the circumstances this would be appropriate and he may hand him over. Atleast you have tried. God forbid anything happens to this dog, atleast you'll know you did all you could I feel so bad for you right now cuz I know how angry you are and how difficult it was to hand him over to him, again...arrrghhhhh...poor pup!
