I plan to go online and design a card/sign like that and do the same thing. Such a great idea! I just won't be able to put it on their windshield however with SUPERGLUE as I would like to. Idiots....... Louise | |

| You absolutley did the right thing, Even though you had to deal with foul mouth people, it just goes to show you how ignorant they really were. I like the windshield idea, that is great. When my son went to the fireworks show at the fair grounds, we were in the car leaving, and my heart sunk, their was a med. sized dog hiding underneath a car scared as can be panting hard. I saw security watching out for the dog, but felt terrible, obviously the dog was terrified from all the noise, and the dog may have run away from the neighborhood, so I did not think it belonged to the car he was hiding under. Still breaks my heart. IN CA we have triple degree heat, or 90+ degrees all the time , Fortunately I have not seen any dogs in hot cars yet, but would act quickly if I did. people are just ignorant, or worse, they do not care.

| I called the SSPCA ( Scottish society for the prevention of cruelty to Animals) and the local police for the same thing here in the UK. Poor wee Jack Russell was joking spare in a car with the windows up and no water or shade in the car.

| That's wonderful what you did. My mom does the same thing. She will wait by the car and call the police.(And she's in Texas) So like some of you the outside the car temps. are over 100 degrees. I can't imagine what it would be like inside. ![]() It's common here in Hawaii to see dogs in cars. But the temps here are always tropical. So not hot and we have tradewind breezes. I will once in a great while run into Starbucks(when there is no drive thru) and leave Ahi in the car. Although I have a remote start key. So she is in AC with my car running and the car is locked with the alarm on. I'm gone a whole 3 minutes.

| There were 2 reports that i saw of dogs being left in vehicles here, one person just adopted a puppy and went to the mall to take back or exchange an item, while she was in the mall cops and dog pound person rescued the dog and put a citation on the woman's dashboard, she had to go get her dog another report a man left his dog in his car while he was at the drs. office cops were called out and they got the dog out and did a temperature reading and it was 125 degrees in his car. Both had the windows cracked and also didnt see nothing wrong with leaving the dogs in the car also the guy said he would also leave his kids in the car, and I think he got citation also. that is a good idea about the signs, not only need them for dogs but for babies also, it is heartbreaking hearing bout a baby being left in the hot car. |

| It is up to all of us to protect the ones that can not protect them selves. This includes, the abused, neglected, and ignored, animals, children, the elderly, handicapped, our neighbors, and each other. Call for Help, do the right thing.

| Some people really have no sense. Let's put them in a hot car with a fur coat on for a while and see if their opinion changes. And if it's "Only a Dog" to them they probably shouldn't even own one. |

| Thank you for standing up for the dog & going the extra mile, getting it help. Besides leaving the dog, what kind of mother or whatever relation she had with the two girls, allows her child or young person in her presence, whatever age, to talk like that around her or to other adults! And the "it's only a dog" crack - foulmouthed & cynically coldhearted for one so young. She was probably pretty shocked when someone stood up to her mouth. Young people like that one usually don't get that way without missing or improper parenting. I hope she is never left in charge of that or any dog. You deserve a big doggie paw salute for standing up for a dog.

| I live in central NY and we do get a few weeks of hot weather but I can't imagine that people in the south would leave dogs in cars during such heat!!! Last summer I was leaving a supermarket and heard the high pitched screams of a puppy. I looked around and I saw a little baby Lab puppy hanging on the edge of a truck window! I ran as fast as I could to catch it but he dropped all the way to the pavement. I picked him up and settled him down. After a few minutes a man came toward the truck. I let him have it!....and I don't mean the puppy! He seemed very apologetic. Apparently he had just gotten the puppy and went in the store to get food for it. The poor thing almost got killed! Things like a carrier for a new puppy seem like common sense to me but never cross the minds of some people! |

| Aw man, they are so lucky someone like you cared enough to go in the store and find them to relieve the dog. I would bring cosmo with me in the car only a few times but in Winter or early Spring because too hot in Virginia! He literally would wait in the car 5 minutes at a time while I picked up my daughter but I felt guilty about that so usually I would just carry him in, or under a shirt or towel I know too well what can happen in a hot car. |

| I have called the police several times in these situations, I give the license plate # and wait for them to show up. (one time they didnt and I had to call again) I have seen 2 times where the owners were dragged out of a restaurant written fines and made to leave, now Im not talking taco bell Im talking Olive Garden, now if you know you are going to choose to go out to eat somewhere like that why on earth would you take your baby with you. those ppl were NOT happy with me , but their puppy was I wait by the cars and talk to the puppies while I wait for the police.I wonder how the owners would feel if we locked them up in a car in 100 degree weather I LOVE the sticky note idea but I like sticking around to give them the mean face in person LOL
