I live in central NY and we do get a few weeks of hot weather but I can't imagine that people in the south would leave dogs in cars during such heat!!!
Last summer I was leaving a supermarket and heard the high pitched screams of a puppy. I looked around and I saw a little baby Lab puppy hanging on the edge of a truck window! I ran as fast as I could to catch it but he dropped all the way to the pavement. I picked him up and settled him down. After a few minutes a man came toward the truck. I let him have it!....and I don't mean the puppy! He seemed very apologetic. Apparently he had just gotten the puppy and went in the store to get food for it. The poor thing almost got killed! Things like a carrier for a new puppy seem like common sense to me but never cross the minds of some people!
