You absolutley did the right thing, Even though you had to deal with foul mouth people, it just goes to show you how ignorant they really were. I like the windshield idea, that is great. When my son went to the fireworks show at the fair grounds, we were in the car leaving, and my heart sunk, their was a med. sized dog hiding underneath a car scared as can be panting hard. I saw security watching out for the dog, but felt terrible, obviously the dog was terrified from all the noise, and the dog may have run away from the neighborhood, so I did not think it belonged to the car he was hiding under. Still breaks my heart. IN CA we have triple degree heat, or 90+ degrees all the time , Fortunately I have not seen any dogs in hot cars yet, but would act quickly if I did. people are just ignorant, or worse, they do not care.
