| So...When to be concerned.... hi there my yt family.. Ive been away for a bit and Ive missed you all!!! So, heres my question.... Mack Brown (the blue born) has been limping around on his back left leg for a couple of weeks now... I know dang good and well what it is.... BUT, the last time I took him to the vet, he caught Parvo.. (even though he had 5 vaccinations)... Hes not whining or complaining yet...but, I dont know how far I should let it go before I take him in to consider surgery... It seems It does him more harm than good to leave the house....i only take him for a occasional car ride...otherwise he stays inside at all times... I dont want to ever jeopordize his safety...any suggestions??

| While I understand your concerns about him contracting something, it does sound like he needs to see a vet. Perhaps an anti inflammatory will help him? I would just be sure his little feet don't touch the floor at the vet ... and be sure the vet cleans the exam table. Take a little blanket with you and put it down for him to stand on when the vet examines him. Hope this helps.

| I agree with Ladyjane - Little Mack Brown needs to see the vet - I would not let him walk around and definitely have them clean the exam table prior to setting him down on it. Good luck. I was just thinking about little Mack Brown the other day and wondering how you all have been - I haven't seen you on in a while. Glad to hear all is good besides his limp.

| I really think he needs to go to the a specialist and have his leg checked out. Limping is a sign of pain. Just keep him in a carrier and make sure to wipe down the exam table before you put him on it.

| It would probably help to bypass the vet & go straight to the Ortho with him. One thing you can do too is, usually the spray bottle with the disinfectant they use on the exam table is rite on the counter, I ALWAYS spray down the table the minute I walk into the exam room myself as I am OCD about that & Don't be embarrassed to ask the vet to wash his hands before touching your baby, your vet should understand your concern about this. |

| Poor little Mack Brown. I would probably try to be the first appointment at the vet to reduce the amount of germs that he comes in contact with. I hope the doctor is able to help him.

| Poor little guy. It would not necessarily have to be a patella problem, it could be the beginnings of arthritis or is he a puppy? Check the pad of his foot and see if it could be as simple as something stuck within it. Sorry if there are things I should know about him and not since I am newly back to YT.

| Hope Mac Brown is feeling better. Is he still blue in color? You take such good care of Mac Brown. Have a good day and keep us up dated. |

Katie Scarlett's Mommy Donating Member | I think I would go to the vet as well, just to be on the safe side. I love the idea of putting him on a pad on the table! I never thought of that. I think I will do that for Katie Scarlett. Although they do spray that stuff on the table when we come in and wipe it down before putting her on it, you never know. I hope Mack Brown will be ok!

| I usually do take a blanket along... But, I know he needs checked out!! It may not be LP, sometimes he's using it, then the next minute up it goes. I dunno!! To answer mugwee1's question... Yes, he is still blue in color, well he's pretty much a solid silvery white with hazel eyes. He's a very special little guy!

| My friends Yorkie was suffering with the back legs too and she did a quarter of a baby aspirin to keep her comfy and it worked |
