| I flip flop on this issue, as some of my posts would certainly attest to. Sometimes I am kind poster and sometimes I am angry one. I find I am less than kind after I have been reading a lot about the sick dogs or other dumb things. I can't help but feel angered by some of these threads by new members especially those that have said in their posts I did a lot of research or I have been reading here for a while. What I should do is just not post on those threads because I refuse to spend a lot of time posting nice welcoming advice things when I feel like screaming you dumb a#@ you don't deserve a dog, let alone a yorkie.

| The good rescues do spay and neuter them cause they dont want them used for breeding. They are concerned for what happens to their rescues

| Yes I understand that when we got Lolo she was fixed and they checked all our references and such for weeks. I applaud those kind of rescues.

| It sounds like you got Lolo from a rescue with integtity. Mot all have that some are fly y night rescues started from the average citizen some are started from animal hoarders. You have to do research when selecting a rescue not all are legitimate

| Read that Again, then touch post .....This is a good post. I have blurted out a knee jerk response a few times myself. I really do, and most of us do, want to help people not just blast our own opinions. It is not always easy to keep emotion controlled. I think the written word is much harder to 'read' than a face, or voice tone. When we are looking at some one we can see them frown, smile, smirk, or grind their teeth. We can hear in a voice sadness, anger, joy, shock or sympathy. Not every one can convey the nuances of the spoken language when they write. So misunderstandings happen frequently. I think a good teacher should be kind, well informed with facts, polite and very good at listening. When teaching it really does work best if the teacher has a soft way of presenting ideas. Compare Two Examples: Teacher # 1 "All puppies should stay with their mother until they are 12 weeks old ! Read what the studies say. Adopting puppies too young will put them in danger and would be irresponsible." Teacher # 2 " Most puppies out grow the risk of hypoglycemia by 12 weeks. Puppies learn social rules and to bite softly when playing. Bite inhibition, greeting, their place in the pack, is learned from litter mates and mother during weeks 8, 9, 10. Puppies also learn to follow the leader and about keeping the bed and nest area clean from their mother. Many studies show that Puppies that stay with their mother and litter mates until week 12, have an good learning attitude, are easier to potty train. What do you think ? Are there good reasons to adopt puppies a 12 weeks ? Sometimes I get tired of repeating the same thing over and over. But, I realized that it took me a while to learn how to use Yorkie Talk's library. So I try to be better about sharing how to do this.

| one of the things that makes it hard to change your mind if you think your post sounds to harsh is the 5 min rule, I wish it was longer, because occasionally I would like to change the tone of a reply an hour or so later. I belong to several boating forums and they alow you much longer to change your post. I can understand why they have it, but 5 min to me is way to short. I know you can PM the moderator, but the only time I did that I never heard back.

| Yes but often kindness takes to darn long, compare the two, one is three lines the other not even a line. LOL I know you are right, just yanking the chain a bit, but it does take longer to dance around a post and educate, sometimes one just runs out of time and patience. That's why I am going to keep my hands in my lap more often.

| I cannot tell you how many times I have typed on here for 5 minutes in anger lol only to stop and delete it all before I posted. I try to always remember I was a new yorkie owner once. I have had wonderful other dogs all my life but a yorkie was a new thing to me I am just thankful my situation turned out better than some have here. YT is one of my most favorite things to do, I just want it to be enjoyable to all the new ones also.

| Actually we got her from a member here who rescued her but she put us through a very rigorous check before we were allowed to adopt her. She also had all her vet work done before hand which was what the rehoming fees covered. She was an amazing little girl the 2 short years we got to share her little life.
