I ♥ Joey & Ralphie! Donating Member | Just a tip, to find unanswered threads, click on "Search" then choose "unanswered threads", you'll get up to 10 pages of unanswered threads. So if you find YT is having a slow moment, you can pick up the pace.

| Thank you Ann, for reminding us we can say what we believe and do it with kindness; and if we can't, we are not required to post a reply.

| As a new member I can say that I don't post that often because I do see people getting attacked for their lack of knowledge. I almost think "How are we supposed to know if we don't ask?" Believe it or not, the internet is not the easiest place to navigate. When researching Yorkie info -- you often find this site. Opinions change, facts and techniques become outdated -- sometimes it is best to ask. That is how we learn! Sometimes you just need support, but sometimes you do need to hear it directly and bluntly, which I can totally admit. I think the big thing is placing blame on an owner after-the-fact. When something is done -- you can say 'next time you might want to...' rather than "You should have, a good owner would have, etc". The EXACT same response, but worded to be more friendly. It is all about good communication. If something happens to your dog, you feel bad enough without a bunch of strangers acting like they've never made a mistake. I, personally, haven't been attacked on the forums and will be posting a LOT of questions as we are going through huge changes with my puppy -- but I just wanted to throw it out there that from a completely new owner/new member perspective it does seem like some members expect you to be perfect yorkie owners with years of experience. Rather than offering support and advice, they can be a bit condescending and not realize that they, too, were new at the Yorkie game! I hope to take advantage of the wealth of knowledge here and ask in advance to be forgiven for what I didn't already know. Much love to you and your babies! ~Dazz

| What a great series of posts! I posted once about my consideration of an "invisible fence" and was literally drawn and quartered. I just wanted to hear from Yorkie owners their personal experiences... I was so afraid my Yorkie babies would get killed under a golf cart or "Barbie" scooter in a five second escape move out the laundry room door! There were two folks who actually posted their personal experiences which were both positive, and about 20 posters who didn't have the fence; didn't know anyone who had the fence; but were sure it was some kind of torture. I'm happy to say I have the fence; I never leave them outside alone anyway (dogs could come in; hawks could pick up my little guy, etc...; and now maybe I'll never have to pick up a lifeless baby that got away. Thank you for opening the lines of communication again. I have a couple more topics I want to post about, and maybe I'll get up the courage to do so. |

| I have been a member here for a few years and have found YT to be very helpful. I have been given some great advice and have had alot of fun here getting involved with halloween costume contests and this year's valentines day ball. I tend to post sporatically due to family and work issues so I haven't been able to make strong friendships or connections as others have but I do still love it here. I hope that YT returns to being an enjoyable, compassionate and educational yorkie-lover haven. It really does put a smile on my face seeing all these precious pups. Thanks for the reminder.

| Forums have their up's and down's, people post without thinking and it's easy to misunderstand. There is one thing though, the sending of unwanted IM's meant to harass another member is way out of line and should be be something that carries a suspension. There is no excuse for it....everyone behave, OK? |
