Please don't buy from them they support puppy mills and anything you buy from them is supporting them.

When I was doing my research on where Callie was from after learning about brokers and puppy mills I stopped after finding out she was from a puppy mill because anything past that would have made me feel so bad worse then I already felt for supporting them. But I sure could not imagine my life with out my little Callie monkey

I know Bella is from a Kennel in Detroit Lakes, MN - I think I will let it go.

What happens to the puppies that no one buys??? Where do they end up?

I find it so sad and I wish I would have done some research...I just never even thought until after I bought Bella and found this site to get some advice. I had no idea...you really don't even hear anything about pet stores not being a good place to buy a puppy. I was thinking it would be the logical place to buy a puppy! I was so wrong.

We love Bella so much and she is VERY spoiled...we have a vet that is awesome (she used to work for me before she went to college) and I trust her totally. She will keep a close eye on Bella and I am just praying my poor Bella does not have any issues as she gets older.

She is sleeping like a little angel under my desk (she comes to work with me) as we speak. So cute!!!

Anyone who buys a puppy from a pet store can get a free puppy report to find out exactly what breeder or kennel the dog came from. Free Puppy Report. I wish this information was available before the purchase.

The one positive about getting a pet store puppy when you are unaware of what's behind the scenes is you learn all about puppy mills the hard way. Before you purchased you obviously didn't know, and that's OK. After you learn you spread the word.

Another positive is that you found love in a hopeless place.

Who knows, but maybe you'll be able to convince someone someday to not buy a dog through a pet store and especially over the internet, where there are no laws yet to protect the dogs.

Where in my post does it say I support pet stores or what they do to their parents? I have never bought a dog from a pet store nor would I ever tell someone to go there to buy a pet. But on the other hand I am not going to attack someone for it either.

Obviously it's not the pup's fault he is from a puppy mill. I'm sure he is adorable and sweet. I hope you don't find genetic problems down the road. AKC papers mean nothing concerning the quality of the dog. Most puppy mills have so many litter registration forms that they can switch them around and use them as they please. AKC is simply an agency for registering pure bred litters and although they try to keep people from misusing their services they have nothing to do with they quality of the pup. It is impossible to police how dishonest breeders use the AKC registration slips.

Why is it that everytime someone comes on YT and says they just got a new puppy that some people like to rain on their parade. There are just as many health problems with AKC show dogs as with any other. The main difference is luck of the draw, I have had 3500.00 show dogs with health problems and 800.00 pet quality dogs with health problems.

Did you read her question, her dog is AKC! Furthermore she asked

If someone asks, we should tell them. By the way, no one ever said the amount of money you pay will guarantee a dog free of health problems. Not every breeder who shows is reputable either, far from it. You are increasing your "chances" of getting a healthy dog, if you go to a reputable breeder. Not only that, but a reputable breeder will do what she can to help you with an unhealthy dog, such as returning the price paid, if the dog suffers from a genetic ailment, and allowing you to keep the dog, if that's what you wish. I don't think a pet store will do that. Most importantly this isn't even about the puppy, as I said before, her puppy may be perfectly fine, it's about the breeding dogs left behind.
