Buying a Yorkie that is not from a puppy mill

Mine is not AKC either and her papers are useless to prove she is full yorkie she also came from a puppymill/broker but I also would not trade her for anything but she has had a lot of health problems. You didn't say anything about the other two things I mentioned.

No need. I believe it. I doubt most of them recover the majority of money that is spent on treating the puppies/adults that they take in.

I disagree with you. I bought my dog because I fell in love with his picture. I never met anyone, and I was never told he has sever LP. They seemed nice enough, but sent me a dog infested with fleas, and the worst case of nerves I've ever seen. as a first time dog owner, having him was almost a nightmare. He's a wonderful, well adjusted dog now, but we struggled at first.

The funny thing is, I found the guidance and support from owners, and a show breeder that I didn't find from my dogs breeder.

If I would have listened to the advice given in this thread, I would have waited longer for a dog, but I would have had a fun, exciting, pleasant experience from the beginning. I agree with you that meeting random people seems daunting. But the payoff is immense. If you don't want to meet people in their homes because it puts you in a vulnerable position, go to dog shows. I know it sounds silly, it did to me as well at one point, but it makes sense to me now. I'm not saying a show dog is superior, or I want show quality to toot my own horn. Instead, think of it this way, where else will you get a chance to meet other dog lovers that are all in one place at the same time? It's like going to one of those job conventions. You meet and get to know different people with hopes of walking away with something at the end of the day. Even if it's just an interview. What if we saw dog shows in a similar fashion? Wouldn't the dog show be a great resource?

By that point, it didn't matter where he'd come from. What was important was that he had been neglected and needed help!

The photos of puppies from mills and brokers make them look well, even if they aren't! With a rescue you know the true condition of the pet!

That's for being a "featured breeder", but it doesn't apply to the average person who just wants to sell their dogs. That is free. I personally wish we didn't have a featured breeder section, but at least the breeders here have more than a 30 day guarantee, I believe it's a year.

YT Featured Breeders offer at least a one-year health guarantee. There are YT Featured Breeders who offer more. The health guarantees and the Yorkie selling contract are viewable by any potential buyers.

YT Featured Breeders have at least one year experience breeding Yorkies, or have personally handled at least two previous Yorkie litters already before they can join the program.

This is the product of what happens to puppies that come from mills and brokers. They end up needing rescued!

Sometimes you have to give before you can get. just because we have the internet doesn't mean that everything in life is easy.
