Yes, a "long intense search in order to find a reputable breeder" is more than WORTH it if it means that dogs are not being mistreated and suffering. I think it is the least we can and should do. Anything else would be laziness at best and apathetic at worst.

I don't think it is as crazy long as you are making it to seem but I also don't think it should be as easy as you want it to be. Breeders also have to be choosy about who they let there puppies go to or the puppy could end up going to a bad home and when advertising is all over the internet you are going to get a lot of bad people and bad dog owners contacting you instead of the truly dedicated people who are taking the time to look and search.

Boy are you rude! I don't think debating the advice people are offering you is going to help you find a good dog!

Why would someone come looking for advice just to shoot it down?

My advice is to look for a rescue if you can't find a reputable breeder in your area. Help a dog that really needs a good home, not a broker or puppy mill!
