I started a thread called What if ? That takes on this very subject. It got pretty heated at times. Some posts were even deleted. I felt ganged up on at times. There were some very good points made and we all learned why the other chooses to reply in the way they do. Its a good read if you have the time. Its good to see other members who feel the same way that I do.

What you said was very rude as well. I'm grateful for the chewing I got when I first came here, made me rethink a lot, I'm still learning. I doubt the validity of a lot of the one time posters; however, people will read those posts for years to come. Yorkie talk is about educating people. Weather the OP chooses to listen is their choice, but what about the 100 nonmembers who will Google search & read the threads later?

What if you came here as a breeder and had a legitimate question/emergency and I REEMED you for being a breeder? Telling you how disgusting you were for bringing more dogs into this world when their are many dogs out their who need to be adopted. Would you want to stick around and listen to the crazy poster behind the computer or would you search for another avenue to get advice? Disclaimer: The above is an example, not my feelings towards breeders.

| PS. I am an educator. We don't beat our students into learning. At least we don't in Jersey.

Thus in an emergency I'd not be sitting on the internet taking random advice...that's just me so I guess you can call me crazy...again. Great Example: Help everyone! I have a pup mill teacup I bought from the pet store for $5000 and it has a full CKC registration. I was planning on breeding her repeatably since she barely has issues with her LP in both back legs and she is just so cute at 2 whole pounds. She was just hit by a car because she wriggle out the leash I had-yes of course it was attached to a collar around her neck while I was dragging her down the street... I'm not so concerned with saving her as much as she might be pregnant-she has been putting on weight or maybe it's all the table scraps she's been surviving one. Can someone explain how to do a C-section over the internet to me? I need to sell these puppies she most likely wouldn't be able to deliver anyways since she was bred with a basset hound. Oh and I can't afford to take her to the vet so she's never been anyways so please no one tell me to do the common sense answer or suggest I have made bad choices in the past, let's all move forward to the one question I said I want answered and nvermind suggesting she go to the ER vet that's absolutely ridiculously they actually charge twice as much there as a regular office visits plus there's a lot wrong with her now... fleas rashes worms lp ct pregnancy (I said possibly but that means obviously on the internet) bad teeth eat mites it goes on and on but ONLY the polite people who will just respond in the way I want them to can respond okay?

| What I think everyone should take into consideration is that most of the people on YT now have information that most of the general public does not have. Most people think that the only thing they need to have to make a valid purchase of a purebred dog is AKC papers. There just is no big education place that informs people about the breeding of purebred dogs. The general public just does not have the information available to them. It appears to me that a great many of the people on YT have purchased dogs from pet stores or back yard breeders. They come here because they get into trouble and need info and some stay and learn. I see aspiring byb people stopping by to ask questions from time to time. You have to remember they are ignorant. For the most part they just don't have the information that is available here and at other sources. YT is a bubble of information in a world of ignorance. The people here have the opportunity to inform people. Some may have come here with problems with their dogs but I think the issue here is with people who want information about breeding their dogs. People seem to be more sympathetic toward people with a pet problem than people who want to breed. Some people want to shame people for wanting to breed and some people want to try to communicate with them. I think if you kindly offer people the sort of information they need some may learn from it, but then of course some won't and in that case then you have to be more blunt. It seems you have to take the opportunity to at least try to be helpful and communicate on the new person's level to start out with. |

| You should wait until she is at least 2 years old to make sure she has stopped growing before you breed her. Also you should have her checked to make sure she has no health problems. You also need to make sure she and her mate are good representatives of the breed. |
