| Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr I am in a sassy mood so this is the statment I am going to make about this subhuman breeder. At least the $10,000 dog is bigger than his you know what. His website makes me ill! It is all about the $$$ and he tries to make it look like everything is warm and fuzzy except the picture with the dog killing the snake

yeah, that's jeff dane, one of the largest glamourized puppy mills in the us. he sometimes comes on here disguised as someone else and causes controversy. he breeds for tinies. always post pics of his pups with a coke can beside them. i have no use for him or his establishment.

Yeah! this far into the game his prices don't amaze me anymore. Good thing I have now learned moreabout yorkies than I knew in the past and could have fallen for his shady marketting skills. The worst part is you can tell these outrageously priced pups are not very good quality and most of them have a look in their face that just screams HELP!!!!!!!!

First off those babies are soooo cute. It breaks my heart that they are being sold as "fashion accersories". Because anyone who was just looking for a pet to love and take care of would not spend that much money! And with how many are on that site... it makes me wonder how well they are really being treated! How could they all get the attention they need? So sad!

Sorry if I offend anyone here because i truly respect allopinions but please be careful about what you say unless you have personal experience with this breeder because there are quite a few members here who got their puppies from Jeff Dane, have been to his facility, have met him in person and rave about him. I have never met him or been to his kennel but it looks really nice in the pictures and his prices seem very fair to me since he seems to price based on the puppy. He sells his standard sized yorkies between $600 and $1200 with the majority in the $600 range. His "teacups" sell for between $1200 and $10,000 with most being around $3500. His rationale for their pricing is based on their looks and desirability. If someone really wants a teeny tiny then they better have the money to pay for it up front as for the extra care it may require for it's lifetime due to it's small size. The teeny tinies need 24 hour around the clock care and they cannot usually be sold until they are quite bit older to make sure thay are healthy. I have no problem with any breeder who puts this time and attention into a puppy from asking that amount in order to find a home where the parents will truly understand the valu of what they have. I think it depends on what you are looking for and you get what you pay for. He is certainly not the breeder for everyone, but I don't think it is fair to criticize him without any proof and I don't think anyone has proof that "he comes on here disquised as someone else". If they do I would like to see it. I don't think he has any more "sick" dogs than the typical breeder who breeds the volume he does. Not every dog is perfectly healthy, and as we all know from being on this forum, breeders tend to get the blame for things when quite frequently it is the new owner who has not educated themselves about the breed and they like to blame things like hypoglycemia for instance, on the breeder. His website is very educational and I cannot criticize him for anything based on internet rumor and not hving met him or been to his facility. I just don't think it is fair.

kim, i think we all know it was very obvious last month that a certain person was claiming to be someone else and an attorney when in fact the posts spoke for themselves concerning jeff. since it will get deleted if i post a specific name, so i'll use a part of the name..."virginia" ring any bells? his pics on his site do not impress me in the least, all i see is a huge kennel with tons of cages stacked upon one another which is the exact opposite of how i would want a puppy to be raised if i were in the market for one.

and as far as being "fair" i dont think its fair to offer puppies for 10 grand that live in a kennel/barn and don't live with the family as a cherished pet first when there are tons of good breeders working their a$$ off to produce a puppy that they have put their heart and soul into for a much more fair price. if i had as many dogs as yorkiepup.com, no way would i be able to put my HEART and SOUL into each and every puppy's well being and socialization. i have said this before...i do not have a problem with tiny yorkies, and i have them on occassion. however when you are using their size ONLY to ask a HUGE price in excess of 3000 plus for your own gain, i think it's terribly wrong. i have tee tiny babies right now that i dont believe will exceed 3-4 lbs. would you rather have a pup from someone like that (me for example) and MANY others who raise their babies in their homes with 24/7 love and care, and keep a manageable number of yorkies that they are able to tend to properly and pay them around a grand or two or would you rather have one from someone who piles them in a kennel, has employees taking care of them (as we were all made well aware of concerning jeff's business) so they dont even really know their babies on a personal level most likely, and charges you 10 grand? i don't see the logic.

I agree that this is a crazy amount to ask for a puppy, no matter what size. But hey, its just like buying name brand clothing right? Its tough but its life. Obviously, he has had many bought at this price, or its a first time. I dont like if he his a bad breeder or whatever. And if these puppies have all kinds of problems for the way he bred them, then that sucks to make them suffer so people can be the talk of the neighborhood with the tiny puppy. We cant save the world though! MuffinsMom
