1st: in the op, was the MS Vip a worker, or another customer. If it was another customer, I think it was not her place to say something. If it was a employee then she could have handled it better.

2nd: a little different take on taking our dogs into businesses. I do not care if someone does, esp little dogs. But, where do businesses draw the line? If we let dogs, in then so should other pets. Why discriminate? How about cats, snakes, rodents, etc? The owners may want to bring them in also. I personally do not want someone carrying around a snake where i am shopping. Terrified of them. As for cats, my dtr and husband are very allergic to them. Red teary eyes, runny nose, and breathing troubles. It would be very bad for them to try and shop in a store like this. If we go into a shop and see a cat or a rabbit, they have to leave the store or stay on the other side of the store. My dtr has had to go to the er because of cats before.

Just some thoughts.

I don't bring Roxie anywhere other than the Vet and Petsmart. I have brought her into Office Max (where they thought she was adorable) and Party City (where they asked me to leave). I find it's just easier to run errands without her. If DBF and I are out together with her and have to stop somewhere quickly, one of us will stay in the car with Roxie while the other runs into the store.

As a person who is highly allergic to cats, I would be upset if I were subjected to someone carrying their cat around in the store and causing me to have an allergic reaction. I would not want to impart that on people who may be allergic to dogs.

Wonderful quotes. Brought tears to my eyes. Had you two not entered the thread, where would it have gone from hence it came? Unfortunately, we as humans need to corner the market more on mercy to others instead of having it cornered on developing the earth's surface. We are great developers, not so great vessels of mercy.

Yes you will if not more. My son is 17 now but I tell him so many times a day I love him, of course I don't kiss him as much as I used to, but he was the greatest gift GOD ever gave me. I was told I would never have a child and when I was 36 I was blessed with my son. I would choose him over my dogs any day but I love them as if they were my children. ( he is even jealous sometimes) No matter how mad I am at him I always tell him I love him when he leaves the house because you never know if that will be the last time you see your child. Of course there are some times I think my dogs act better than he does. Your child will be blessed to have you for a mother.

You never knew your heart could hurt so good!!! The unconditional love you have for your child is overwhelming. I was very nervous when I was pregnant with my second child because I didn't think my heart could hold that much love. How could I love the 2nd as much as the first. I thought there was no more room in my heart. It is so amazing the love you could feel. I have 4 children and my heart has just about exploded. I am very lucky to feel all the feelings of motherhood.
Bless you and your new baby. It is just truly a miracle. Enjoy every second.

I honestly dont inderstand why walmart (as well as other stores) will allow service animals into their stores but personal pets are not allowed. A dog is a dog is a dog-regardless of service or not. There's still food there if the service animal is there. And my 1.2 pound Yorkie is never going to touch the ground, the buggy or any shelves. That service animal will.

I just think some things are silly. My dog is 100 times cleaner than the rats and mice running around in those stores!!

The bottom line is a device dog accompanying someone in to a store is a NEED. Bringing your personal pet in to one is a WANT.

Often I wish I could take one of my dogs with me to more places, but I understand and respect why most businesses do not allow it.

As for the subject of pets vs children, I believe quantifying the value of life and love in those terms diminishes the value of both. There is no adequate measurement, therefore the comparison is false.

At this point I think that,like last week, I will opt out at this point. You can only go there sooo many times,,dogs in public,dogs not in public,children more important than dogs,dogs more important than children (life is life), service dogs vs non service dogs.
