I can relate to rude co-workers and "friends". My fiance and I inherited an older female cat from his former room mate. She needed to be completely vetted as no one had ever tended to her needs. Long story short about a week before she was going to be spayed I noticed she had pus-like discharge. She went straight to the vet and neded emergency surgery due to pyometra. It cost us over $1000 and one rude co-worker said, "Are you crazy? I would have just told them to kill it!" Some people just DONT GET IT!!!!

I have a shih tzu also - they are the sweetest dogs (and very stubborn). Cassie is beautiful and I wish you many more happy years with her

...just another thought Lou. When you put your pictures back on your desk be sure to include the winning photo of the Cutest Yorkie Butt of 2010 and tell them you put that one out just for them

I'm so sorry people can be real jerks. I have actually had a family memeber say there is more to life then that small dog. It really hurts when people say something bad/rude about them because they are like your babies. You actually have to feel sad for these people because they must have never experienced the love and companionship of a dog.

OMG! They say those things to you? I don't know if I would have been able to keep to myself on that one about the gun....

When ppl say things to me like that about my dog, I say something like, I like dogs better than most ppl, they are smarter. haha! Actually, I just used that one yesterday.

Im so sorry they said such harsh, mean things to you. Until you love a dog like your own child, they will never understand....but we do!!

I agree that these people aren't your friends. No true friend would ever say anything so hurtful.

I think that you should put your pictures back on your desk. If it makes YOU happy, then you shouldn't worry about what anyone else thinks. They are the ones missing out on the unconditional love of a dog. Who gave them the right to judge you and what makes you happy?

They just don`t get it. I think that you should put your little dog`s photos back on your desk and let their little faces make you smile all throughout the day.

Lou, do not let their archaic ways of thinking change who you are. They are but shells of human forms wandering the earth, until they really 'know' the love of a precious Yorkie, they will never be 'whole' in heart or spirit!

Just to be so unaccepting and judgemental of what is so true and dear in someone else's heart is callous and rude, to say the least. They were deprived of love as children and adults, and are trying to find it in partying and shopping!

Look, I can understand that you may not 'get' me, but my pups are like childen to me. I choose to feel this way, and if you don't like it, and can't accept that they are part of me, then please do not make stupid remarks, I really don't care to hear it, in fact, I have heard it all before. If that is all you have to offer, then, please, don't even stop by my desk... just keep walking. On the other hand, for those who have children, I understand the love you have for them, and would never say anything out of line or insult you for loving them, so please just extend me that curtesy and allow me to love who, what, where and when I choose, and keep your inappropriate comments to yourselves.

And I want to see pics of your desk, redecorated, with a big 8x12 glossy of the winning 'World's Best Yorkie Butt' Contest photo of Adie in the middle! And make another sign to frame and display... 'World's Best Yorkie Mama', because you are, and here, at YT, know that you are loved and very respected. And don't you forget it.

I declare this 'Yorkie Pride Year' at Lou's desk! Show that Yorkie Pride, lady! WooHoo!

I don't understand those type of people and don't care to. Loving our dogs, I believe, makes us better humans. I would hate to have to work with people like that. Their lives must be a bit empty without the undonditional love for and from a dog.

Well apparently they have missed the new survey that was on CBS Sunday Morning this past Sunday. 90% of Americans consider their pets as part of the FAMILY!!! So exactly where does that put the other 10%? :-)

I have to agree with others that have posted.. those people are NOT your friends! All they are is people that drift aimlessly throughout their miserable lives and try to make you feel bad for something you should NEVER be ashamed of. They are just jealous of the joy you have in your life. I say put those pics back up on your desk and be proud of your babies! Talk about them whenever u want... if they don't want to hear it they don't have to listen! I would rather be in the company of my dog then a "human being" like that any day!

Don't let them get you down! <3

I think we need to schedule a flash mob of Yorkie owners to show up with their pups at Lou's office one day! If I lived closer, I'd send my biker DH over with little Peek a Boo to take you to lunch! Let them say something rude to him!

when my dad died some of those I thought were my closest and dearest friends were not their for me at all, sometimes life presents little surprises that make you rethink your social network

I have to agree with others that have posted.. those people are NOT your friends!
