| ![]() I found the best way to get what you want is to write it out in detail with both the do's and don't listed. Make a copy and leave it with them. Have them staple it to the order and it should take care of all communication problems. Once you get a perfect groom & it might take a few....take a pic and add that to the written words. BTW $65 for a grooming in FL is way too much! I pay $30-35 each for mine. They do an excellent job, treat the pups like royalty, add bows and seasonal "neck-tie collars," and have them smelling SOOOOO good!

![]() You wrote that you would not have paid $1000 for your Yorkie if you had wanted a chihuahua. Several of us were simply pointing out that a good chihuahua costs just as much as good Yorkie. ![]() Everyone understands you were venting about the haircut.

| ![]() I know you are heartsick and I am so glad you got your money back but oh, my, that little face is so cute it made me smile down to my toes. Oh, Lord, you have a doll dog! I know how sick it makes you feel to lose a cute "look" your dog had and I get it about it not being right that you lost the topknot but as a stranger who didn't have to go through all of this and just looking at those 3 pictures, that little dog is stunningly charming in all of them. With the very short "do", the little face has a wistful, gamin look which just gets me. Does this dog have as much personality as these pictures suggest? I would be this little dog's total patsy with that face and those ears and that look! My, my, my. |

Phantom Queen Morrigan Donating Member | ![]() I am a groomer and I find your post title highly offensive. I'm sorry your yorkie got the wrong haircut but that is no reason to make such statements. There are quite a few groomers on this forum and we take pride in our work. The groomer admitted she made a mistake and you got your money back. Yes it was wrong of her to do what she did but it is hair and it will grow back. Your dog was not harmed in any way. Also, I just wanted to point out that your instructions to her, besides don't touch his top knot, were very unclear. you said "I get there and I specifically stated, can u trim his body so that his fur is even, and she said oh ok, do u sandbox face robe trimmed in Teddy bear, I said sure, whatever u do, donor touch his top notch, he had a bow in his hair." (the blue text i can only imagine was supposed to mean do you want his face trimmed like a teddy bear. I could be wrong but i have no other idea what you could possibly mean.) Trim his fur even does not give the groomer any idea as to what length you want left on or taken off. You wanted a top knot but also said sure to a teddy bear cut. The groomer should have asked you more questions but you should have been more specific. You are both at fault. Also it sounds like you took her to a petsmart or petco. is this correct? i don't know what dAmb means either but either way it is written in a negative way about Chihuahuas which is rude. many members here have Chihuahuas as well and they are worth just as much as your yorkie is to you.

| ![]() My Nicco's first professional haircut was also a disaster that ended up with me in tears and the shop offering me a refund. But, ultimately it does grow back. I so wish I could find somebody I trust to "do" his hair, but for now I just trim him myself.

| ![]() We all have bad hair days. Dori's groomer is wonderful. It's always spa day for a "fluff & buff." Our only complaint, we have to book weeks in advance. Your boy looks very sporty; maybe next time, take in a photo for reference.

Donating YT 4000 Club Member | ![]() We have been on the receiving end of bad haircuts. I've found that it was due to the differences in the way us "lay people" describe things versus the way a professional uses the terms. I've had better luck with bringing in pictures versus just telling them what to do, especially if it's my first time seeing them. Thankfully, it's just hair and will grow back. Your baby is cute either way.

| ![]() As a groomer, I well understand that most groomers are not trained in specialized breeds. Sad but true. In addition they work on a clock and groom as many dogs as they possibly can. I'm sorry that you had to go through this, but in the future research your groomer.....Your little guys hair will grow and very quickly. However, they did refund your money, which they never should have taken in the first place. It's what a groomer should do.

I ♥ Joey & Ralphie! Donating Member | ![]() I don't blame you for being upset, I think some of the readers of this thread have to realize the OP was very emotional when she wrote this, and please try to be not so judgmental of the way she phrased things. If she's made to feel like she has to explain every comment and even the title of the thread, she's not going to feel like we're a very understanding bunch. Anyway, I feel for you, but I agree with the others, even a bad haircut cannot hide Dolces' beauty.

I agree. He looks very cute and it will grow back. Always, always, take a picture of what you hope the outcome will be when you go into a groomer. There are literally 1,000's of pictures of Yorkies on YT and I'm sure no one would mind if you "copied" one of their dog's pictures and took it to the groomer's. Of course, I shouldn't automatically assume no one would care as we're all here to help each other...and I know if someone like my Yorkie's "do" that much I'd take it as a compliment.
