| Back from the Groomers and I'm in tears After all the discussions this past week about groomers maybe I should have taken it as a bad omen. I took Mac & Mellie to the groomers I always go to. He's great. Well Mac looks just wonderful the owner who always does them did Mac. Mellie is what I am in tears about. I know it is just hair and will grow back, but she looks like a total dork with a mullet/crewcut. When I took them today I told the owner to trim Mac and just even out Mellie who's coat I WAS growing. I have been very patient growing out her bangs and her top knot was just about there. Well now it's totally gone. Her beard is more like clean shaven. It's not even a puppy cut. It's just awful. My son keeps telling me she doesn't know. I threatened to shave his head and see how he likes it. I don't know why he let one of his other people do her. I have spoken to him he apoligized and said he will only do them next time. I am just so upset. My daughter and I put her in a pink fuzzy sweater just so she'll look like a little girl again. How long before her hair grows back again? I know everyone gets a bad haircut now and again but this is past bad. Sorry for the long rant but I am just so upset. My poor beautiful little baby. Do you think maybe I can get her hair extensions or a yorkie wig until it grows back. PS looks like there will not be any pics of Mellie for a while at least not without any clothes!

| I would be upset too. I am letting my Jewels hair grow out. when I got them groomed last time it took about 3 months to grow out. The groomer didnt cut their hair as short as it sounds like yours did though.

Yorkie Kisses are the Best! Donating Member | Awwww...Chanel will give up some hair to give Mellie a hair extension - poor mom - Groomers really sometimes just plain do NOT listen to us do they ? Your son is right - it WILL grow back and many of us have been in your shoes - I laughed all the way home when Chanel got her first really BAD short haircut - I had to or I would have cried....it's only hair - and you have a healthy baby - Try to count the blessings and be thankful she is happy and healthy - but I DO understand how you feel.... There's REALLY cute sweaters and some even have matching hats |

| I totally feel for you. My bfriend decided to be nice and cut off all the knots and tangles on Choppi, Pochi and Daisy (most of them were under the legs, around the collar). When he put Daisy on the bed, I looked at her and thought something looks weird on her. I've been trying to grow her top/bangs so she can have a nice ponytail instead of the small nub. But I looked at it and he cut off her bangs because he said it was getting in her eyes and he cut so much off her she looks like she has a bad crew cut!!! I yelled at him and told him to never touch her top hair again. (she's more my dog) It made me so angry...but what can you do now? After my initial anger I tease him now when I'm holding Daisy I have her pretend she's in the military and yell out "Yes Sergeant Sir!"

And I miss his puppy hair but it is growing back, it has been a week and it looks a bit better, I swear , I took him so he wouldn't get a bad hair cut at home and look at what these "experts" do to them!! Don't worry, it will grow again!! |

| Awwwwe, that's too bad . Atleast it is sweater weather and that always helps them to look cuter...maybe even a little bow in what is left on her little head. Sorry it turned out so bad. |

| I'm so sorry this happened, I know you are upset. Mellie is so cute, I'm sure her hair will grow back fast. We hear so many bad things about Groomers, if my Groomer ever moves, I'm going to have to take a Grooming class. A cute sweater and a little bow, then maybe a picture!

| I know you are upset, cant blame you. Her will grow back soon. For now like others mention she can wear sweaters. Try not to be so upset and enjoy your sweet beautiful baby. I know that despite the haircut she is still gorgeous. Gucci send Hugs and kisses for you and Mellie. |

| I would be sooo upset too! I guess the positive is that nothing bad happened to her like the little baby last week who had part of her tongue cut out at the groomers I would never cut my babies hair myself...but I am so afraid to take them to the groomers after all the horror stories!!!

| I’m sorry to hear about your puppies cut. At least now you don’t have to worry about brushing her as often, right? So do these groomers not let the customers watch them work? We’re getting a lot of these groomer complaints. I’ve never taken Ginger to one but if I did I would want to watch them. Is that against their rules?

| Thank you all for making me laugh and feel better. Mellie says to thank Chnel for her generous donation of hair. My usual groomer is fantastic I don't know how Mellie ended up with one of his assistants. We are going to talk again tomorrow. We have done some massive sweater shopping, after all shopping cures most things. Now that I finally ordered my C C products the other day, maybe it's best to start with a blank slate. Mackie did come back looking great!. (hey but he's a guy and they aren't as vain as some (me) women!

| Aww, poor Mellie and Mommy. With all of the horror stories I've read this week, I am scared to get Lucy's hair groomed! (although, I still have a while). I couldn't help but laugh at the mullet and yorkie wig comments. I'm sure her personality will outshine her bad haircut.

| Im sorry your so upset!!! Quote:
I dont want anyone to take this the wrong way!!! But as a hairstylist myself and as you all know this happens to us humans too.. Awhile back someone posted on this also, I was trying to exsplain that its all about communication, communication, ALWAYS TELL THE GROOMER WHAT YOU DO NOT WANT OR LIKE FIRST! But always spent the time to tell them exactly want you dont want and what your goals are for your pup. make them repeat it back to you so they are on the same page as you. Some just dont care, if you get that feeling from them run the other way. I believe thats horrible to do this to your babies and i'd be mad to. But it does grow back and shes just adorable as can be. Hang in there!

| Groomer's view I TOTALLY agree...COMUNICATION is the key!!! If a client says "just a trim" I ALWAYS ask what does that mean to them or if they say "puppy cut" well that can mean a few things as well. I think if anything many times I don't do short enough (especially the 1st groom). I too have heard the horror stories and that is why I try to really take the extra time up front. it's my reputation at stake otherwise and I take pride in what I do. The hair does grow back and the original groomer knows what happened and you can remind him next time NOT to do it again. Until then keep those cute pink sweaters on and she will be a cute as ever....i mean after all she is a YORKIE!!!
