| 1. what do you feed them? How long do you give it before you realize they wont eat what you have (i know to give her some time being she's so scared and all...) I feed both my girls Eukenuba--but we are switching right when this food is done because of the way the Iams company is, nothing against the food! I've never had the problem with any of the ones we have gotten that didn't eat it. Taylah is now switched over on it and loves it! 2. whats a good smelling, gentle shampoo? I just use Johnsons & Johnsons Baby Shampoo! I love the smell and it seems so gentle on their skin and coat and its what I always use! 3. good, smal treats to use as reward, etc... Well, since Taylah is still a puppy, we just some cheese. Just break little small piecesup and lave it in the fridge and take it out with us if she uses the potty to give to her then to know she is rewarded for it. I also use animal crackers-but break it up so its small enough for her little mouth right now, and I recently got some Brownie Bites from Wamart, they are small but you still have to break them up a little extra for small dogs and so far, these things are her FAVE! We also use fruit loops and peanut butter balls cereal .

| 1. what do you feed them? How long do you give it before you realize they wont eat what you have (i know to give her some time being she's so scared and all...)You should continue feeding her whatever she was getting from the previous owner. Then if you wanna switch later do so slowly. These little sweeties can have very sensitive tummies. 2. whats a good smelling, gentle shampoo? Most people on her really like the C&C systems shampoo. I haven't tried it yet, but I just order my first bottle so we'll see. You can also use a moisturing people shampoo for a short time until you decide what kind you wanna go with. 3. good, smal treats to use as reward, etc... [COLOR=Purple]My puppy really likes honeynut cherrios or those tiny teddy grahams. Just a note: If you are having trouble getting her to eat you might wanna pick up some nutrical (it is a high calorie supplement that you can get at petsmart). Also you might try feeding her cottage cheese and rice (I add a little syrup for flavor) it's gentle on there tummies and she might eat that. Or try some boiled chicken.

| I feed mine Royal Canin hard and Lil Casars moist. I really havent had any problems with mine not eating that so I cant really answer how long would wait if they werent eating it. I use Chris Christensen Shampoo, conditioner, and Ice on Ice. You can look these up on the internet by putting in Chris Christensen. This is a popular brand that many people use on here. I give pupcorn and cherios as a treat. You could also give cheese, fresh fruits or vegetables or puperoni.

| I feed 3 times a day, but I know most people just leave food out. However, my little hoover would have it all gone in under a minute so we have to break it into meals for him. I usually bath him once a week or once ever other week depending on how he looks and smells.

| Amy, You should also give her a good multi-vitamin every day. One good brand is Pet-Tabs. I bathe mine every week. Usually 5 - 7 days apart. I always used Pro-V on Muffin and do on Kacee. I used baby shampoo on their faces. I keep a good oatmeal shampoo to use if they develop seasonal itch. Also, once she turns 7 her food should be changed to senior food. How are her teeth? Once you gain her trust, you will want to check her teeth for tartar buildup. I brush my doggie's teeth and also use tooth wipes to keep them clean.

| I feed 2x a day. Once in the am before work and once in the pm after work. (on week-ends - same time of day as weekdays.) I feed dry in the am and wet in the pm. I can tell you that I can count on the time of her bowel movements like clock work. She only has 2 per day. Once after she wakes up in the am and again after we get home from work. I agree you should keep her on the same food for a while as what the breeder was feeding her. I give treats and I give goodies. Treats are for training (i.e.- potty, commands, etc) I usually give dehydrated chicken pieces or cat food or string cheese cut into small bites. (Millie loves these). For goodies (just because she's so cute) I give (what I call junk food) like puperoni's, beggin bites, snausages, etc. |

Her teeth really need to be cleaned. I'll ask the vet about it today..but will wait a little while to have it done. Then I'll attempt to brush them. Good idea on the vitamins.

| Hi I agree that you should keep the food the same and slowly introduce new food. Shelby is very picky but she loves Nutro Lamb/Rice kibble. She will gulp it down now if I put a little warm water over it. (you may find samples at pet stores... or some petcos have return policy if she wont eat it) I only put water on it if she isn't interested in the dry that day. Another favorite (YOU HAVE to get this) is Natural Balance meat roll. Petco sells sample sizes for 99 cents. A small piece is a great treat or you can break it up with the kibble to get her more interested in her food. Shelby has a bath once a week and I rotate CC with Pantene (human shampoo and condition) I use baby shampoo on her face and baby detangle between baths. I also have ear cleaner that I put a little on cotton and squeeze in her ear after baths (dries up any water that may have got in there) don't spray water in her face...use a washcloth. For now you might get her a greenie to chew on, good for her teeth. Some dogs can't have them b/c they gulp them but see how Daisy is. Some owners here won't give them, some dogs get them every day. I let Shelby chew on one a couple times a day but I monitor her. helps with the bad breath and she loves them. Best wishes with your new family member. She is adorable |

| As for food: Purina Pro Plan As for treats: can't help you. I have not found one Trixie will eat yet. She always buries them under the pillows on our bed. Then Flash, being a hound dog that can smell ANYTHING, will pick up the scent and find it. Trixie doesn't seem to mind though. But occasionally when I get ready for bed, I find Greenies under there... |

1) California Natural and Innova are great, healthy foods for dogs (in my opinion). They are stubborn...leave it there, eventually they will eat it. You could also put in some cottage cheese or scrambled eggs to encourage the dog to eat it. That helps their bones/coat. 2) I like CC systems shampoo and conditioner (do a search for CC systems) 3)If you want to give a healthy and small treat, try Innova or California Natural treats.

| I think everyone has given you good advise on the food as I have such a gang with different issues I will only give you the brands I use: Innova, Nutro, Nature's Variety (raw) and Nature's Balance. Treats are Charlie Bears which can be found at Pet Smart and for Shampoo I use Coathandlers Shampoo and Conditioner. I love this shampoo as you can use it right on their eyes and it doesn't hurt. This shampoo was created by a Yorkie Breeder and it really makes a difference with their coats. www.petedge.com and other internet companies offer this product. |
