| Found Arcata CA OKay almost unrelated to this site but I wanted to post everywhere I possibly could-so far we have tried the neighbors we know and whom were home (and I grew up in this neighborhood so)...anyways Animal Control and the vets are all closed for the weekend, so we can't take her to get her scanned for a chip until Monday so we have a guest with us for the weekend she's super-friendly and doing well with my dogs (literally curled up next to my son on the couch right now) hoping to spread the word everywhere and find this little girl's people -no collar on her-she seemed way to happy to be off a leash and running free, trying to go in everyone's garage that was open and right into one lady's door-she obvious is trying to make it home and missing her people. Here's the craigslist ads I posted for her found lost female dog Found Female Dog |

| I'm glad you took her in... I'm sure her family is missing her. Hopefully she is microchipped!

| Thank you I try to imagine myself in the position of her people right now. I'm hoping it's just that not everyone realizes to check craigs list and they'll immediately be contacting Animal Control on Monday morning for their dog. She is absolutely spotlessly clean and very well mannered, really seems to be used to people food so she's someone's little spoiled baby. I can't beleive how many peopel asked why I didn't just leave her outside...well because if my dog was an escapee I would hope they'd know to make it home...and dodge cars the whole way...but would be much happier missing them for a couple days and then finding out they were safe, warm, dry and fed until they made it home. Furthermore the person made every possible effort to find me and get my babies home, instead of just leaving them to wonder or worse possibly worse-thinking they had just found their new dog. |

| That's a wonderful thing you have done taking her in and taking time to post ads. I really hope she makes it back home in time for Christmas.

| Not sure how I feel about this or what to do considering...Took "new dog" (ye we're trying not to get attached but my son named her that for now-it was better than just dog tho). Well it's Monday I haven't received any response to my craigslist and none of the neighbors knew her, Animal Control didn't open until later in the morning so I called a local vet and took her in to get microchip scanned. She's registered! She is actually a patient of the vet I took her to they gave me the owner's name phone number and address which is actually at the end of my block! The phone number is disconnected so we took a walk down the block when we got home...I realized what house she belongs to, the police were here Saturday (its the only house the police go to in this neighborhood-so I'm like "ugh") Well she must have gotten out right when we found her because the police were there and were leaving and we found her running and took her in about 30 minutes later-no one has been seen at the house in the last few days...they put in the effort to microchip her, she's extremely clean, ears and all no tear stains-knows sit stay and lay down and sits pretty and is a bit over weight-in fact as soon as my BF went to the refrigerator the first time in front of her she sat right behond him, he got food out and she sat pretty (up on her back legs front feet tucked-she never snapped or whined just sat pretty until he snuck her food). She was obviously well cared for and spoiled hence her grooming, behavior and well slight obesity and affinity for people food. Have never seen her walked or seen her period but she lives on my block, obviously an inside dog only as you can see through the fences here. Through the neighborhood grape vine everyone knows the lady who lives there has some pretty serious problems with the teenage son and thus the police are there quite often now...but no one is there now, no one has been there the last few days and the phone number that goes with her microchip is disconnected-obviously we can't just keep her it would be wrong but I feel awkward and am not sure what to do...other than right now I don't actually have to turn her over to Animal Control to fond her owner...but who should I call and what to do next besides just keep fostering her here? Calling the vet back to see if she has any medical needs, that's all I can think of right now. |

| Well she has no known medical conditions, doesn't require any meds etc, no known allergies and I feed my dogs Taste of the Wild (which has minimal allergens and no grains I was stressed on this since one of my dog sis allergic to corn and the other has seizures and require a seizure specific diet-so yippy) so she needs her anal glands cleaned (she drags her bottom after every pooh) so I'm taking her to my groomer (way cheaper than her vet) I asked about her snoring and they let me know they haven't seen her in about 5 years! She actually seems to have (I did the Google vet chat) reverse sneezing-she swallows mucus) which is super common especially among Beagles (she's a Beagle mix) and this caused the snorting she randomly does and the snoring...left my info with the vet and will wait to hear about what the Police Department thinks and hopefully the owners will be back home soon and we can work it all out...should I stress on her having not been the vet in like 5 years? If she's here much longer I'll have to take her in and update her shots etc. Just don't have the heart to take her the pound since we know where she goes and they are super overwhelmed right now anyways... Donating YT 4000 Club Member | Thank you for taking care of this little girl. I would hope that someone would do that for me if (heaven forbid) one of mine ever got out.
