| Bless you for opening your heart like that. AND Bless you for putting his needs and feelings first. I understand that you feel sad about your decision but you have also given him the chance to have the steady companion he needs. You have also blessed another persons heart by letting her have a constant love in her life and a reason to get out of bed everyday and keep going.

| He has been through enough. It will help him to have someone around all day. Since he is getting older, it will be even more important for someone to be around in his senior years.

| I think you had a lot of courage to make your decision! I think it was a good one, since this little guy has already lost so much in his life, then to be left alone for awhile, when you were working may not have been the best thing. I'm sure he'll get the right attention he needs from someone being with him all day! There will come a time when you know it's right and the right little one will come along! God Bless you and this little guy!

| Ok, a bit of an update. The lady called me back this morning, which is quite funny, because this little one has been weighing on my mind. She asked me if I still might be interested in adopting "Ricky", I told her my concerns about him being left home all day alone just after losing his owner, and she said well no worries about that because he was home alot by himself when my son was going to Duke hospital, etc. I said well I am still not sure because I would hate to leave him alone, she said well I really like you and decided the other lady was just not a good fit. She said will you bring Roxie ( I told her all about Roxie..lol) and come and meet Ricky, just to see how he takes to you..omgosh. What am I to do? I really would love to adopt the guy but I still have concerns about him being home alone during the day. What do you guys think? Am I totally crazy, or is this fate and meant to be? She did state that the boys grandmother was having a hard time letting the dog go to just anybody because it was her grandsons dog. wow, i am totally at a loss here.

| Yeah, I thought about the whole name thing..lol..Ricky and Roxie, I am a very strange person, but I honestly take this as a sign, I mean the dog has been on my mind since the day I talked to the lady, so I havent rushed into anything, and then she calls me out of the blue. Who knows, I guess it wouldnt hurt to go and meet him. lol

| I think I just might. I told her to talk to her mom and make sure that she is ready to let Ricky go, and if so I would take Roxie to meet him. He is 8 and not nuetered, so do you think thats too old to get him fixed? nm, let me meet him before I start making plans...lol...

| He is not too old to get neutered. As far as leaving him alone all day while you work , check Cesar Millan's web site. He even says not to feel guilty about it. Could you imagine the number of homeless animals there would be if people in the workforce didn't have pets ? Just because someone works doesn't mean they are a bad doggy parent. This little guy and your current dog will keep each other company during the day and as dogs age they sleep more. I think you should go take a look at him. Good luck in your decision ! | Oh I'm so excited for you! I also am a true belilever in signs and fate! If he was used to being alone, and you have to remember he actually won't be alone, he'll have Roxie! Then I would say follow your heart! Mine would be telling me to go meet and if Roxie and Ricky get along, then, that would seal the deal, so to speak! I cant begin to tell you how much I love Tinkerbell (my rescue, for just a week!) Good Luck and I'm sure you'll let us know how it all goes! I can't wait to hear!
