| Traveling with your puppy? My boyfriend and I will be traveling 6 hours for Thanksgiving. None of our family members are available to watch our pup, which is what we normally do when we leave for a weekend…so thats out of the question. So our choices are have him stay at a vet for the weekend, OR take him with us! Which i would totally love BUT the boy isnt too sure about traveling with Hux for that long Sure it will be a really busy weekend but why not have my little guy with us?! So now that I'm done rambling lol, do your yorkies do well on long road trips? Huxtyn is 6 months old and does well on hour road trips.

| He'll do fine. Mine have always loved to travel. I used to travel a lot - not much anymore. Do you have a lookout seat? That would make it safer and nice for him. Be sure to take any emergency supplies and maybe even some pure pumpkin in case he gets diahhrea during your stay.

| I dont have a look out seat but i'm thinking about getting one. We are from the middle of kansas and are going to Colorado. I didnt know if the altitude would bother him at all. What is pure pumpkin?

| I took Max on a 12 hour road trip earlier this year. He did fine. His eating schedule was a little off because he didn't really eat in his strange surroundings but all in all he was fine.

| I don't believe the altitude will bother him. I've never had any problem with mine anyway. Yorkies fly all of the time! Pure pumkin - like Libby's pure pumpkin in a can. It's at wal-mart now since Thanksgiving is coming up. Just be sure it says Pure Pumpkin. It's just handy to have around. A teaspoon or two usually helps. Make him comfortable and warm and he should be happy! My little Muffin had a lot of miles on her. Kacee not so many.

| I've always taken mine shopping with me and take food, too, so mine always got used to eating in the car.

| We took Dinky on a 12 hour drive. He was 6 months, and, at that point, he was still inseure. It wasn't terrible, but I have to admit that he was stressed. He hated all the new places that he had to potty, but he cooperated. Also, he did not sleep well in the car. For some reason, he tried to stay awake and would fall asleep "on his feet." Overall, he was restless in the car.Even though he did sleep, he was exhausted when we got to our destination. We were too, so everyone slept. Now at 10 months, he likes riding in the car better, so when we make the trip again this spring, I think he will do better. |

| We took Ally on a 9 hour road trip and back when she was 3 months. My puppysitter fell thru. She was great. I carried her around in her puppy purse. She never made a sound. She loved all the attention. Never had one accident. We went out of town for my youngest son's graduation from Basic Training so we were out and about a lot. We took food and water every where because her eating was off schedule. I can't tell you how great she was. We stopped at rest stops a lot, but she didn't go potty. She just wanted to look around. She went everywhere. We didn't have a car seat at the time. She slept in her kennel and I put her bed at my feet. She wanted to sleep the whole trip back and it worried me....but she was like a baby...they sleep in the car. Good luck. It'll be fun! |

| Levi's been on an 8 hour road trip to my boyfriend's parents' house and he did just fine. He loves to travel. I'm sure your baby will be fine. Just remember to bring food and water and stop often for potty breaks.

| I make a 5hr drive every other weekend to visit my boyfriend and my two do absolutely fine. We have made the drive during the daytime as well as at night and they just sleep in there crate the whole time except for when I stop to let them potty (normally only once, and they don't REALLY even need that anymore... I just don't want them to be uncomfortable ). They are only 5 and 6 months, so I think your puppy should be absolutely fine! Hope that helps! Good luck! |

| I took Chewie with me on a trip to Oregon when he was 5 mo. (not sure how many hours from home, but it was two full days of driving one way). He did great! He stayed in his kennel in the car and pretty much slept the whole time. It was his bed for the week. I had him sleeping in the new kennel in a different room for a week before we left to acclimate him to it. He's outside-trained, so pottying at rest areas wasn't a problem at all.

| If you have taking your pup on 1 hour trips I don't see why you shouldnt try 6 hours. Stinky loves road trips. The most I have done was 5 hours. I did take him on a walk of course before getting in on the car and of course when you guys stop to pup gas let him out..My pup lays down for the most part of the trips |

| We drove from East Tennessee to Grand Lake Colorado and Maddie did great! This trip took us two days, about 12 hours each day, and she was fine. The altitude did not bother her either. |
