| We travel in the truck a lot with both our dogs. You still have time that if you want you can contact your vet and ask for a benadryl type med to help with car sickness if your dog is prone to it. Just as a safety precaution. I assume your staying over somewhere. Make sure the place your staying is ok with a dog as a tag along. We have had to travel two days in a row in the car for a family vacation. I usually put a metal bowl in a cup holder with a bit of water in it and hand feed about 30 min's before a planned pitstop. Its also great to have a chew toy on hand. |

| I have taken mine on 6 hour flights, which means they are stuck in the carrier for 10 hours or so and they do just fine. I also once went on a 12 hour road trip with four dogs and four people in one car So it can be done. Mine LOVE roadtrips because they usually get scrambled eggs from McDonalds as a treat when we stop for breakfast ![]() The trips usually take a little longer with the dogs because I stop a bit more often and let them stretch their legs a little bit but its always fun and I think the dogs like seeing new places |

| Sophie Kate has been a few long road trips and she does just fine. I just remember to take her food and water and try to keep her on a schedule the best I can. I also use her car seat and I have a seat belt clip for her harness, I switch her around usually once or twice so she gets some change.

| Ours travel all the time.... especially around the holidays. We have a snoozer carseat which is safe and also allows them to look out the window. I am planning on ordering another one, now that we have Seeger. We did find out that sometimes it is good to keep a peepad with you in the car if they are used to going on them. Sometimes just putting a pad down gives them the idea that is time to GO and not fool around....... we use our GPS and stop at Petstores (Petsmart is our favorite). Many times using the restroom in the store and put the pad on the floor for a "potty break") We also do a stop for feeding.... but not too much, you don't want tummy troubles while traveling. If you are looking for a good place to stay.... can I recommend the Residence Inn. They are like a small apartment and accept pets........... but you may want to check out the hotel bedbug website..... there are so many hotels that have them nowadays...... even the expensive 5 star hotels! Safe Travels!

| Annie is nearing 5 months old and has traveled well with me to my son's college football games. It is a 5 hour drive to his school and I just went to one that was 4 hours away yesterday. She is the greatest little traveler! She sleeps most of the time as I am driving. I have a great carrier that doubles as her car seat. I have a car seat too but for a long drive I wanted her to stay enclosed. She is pretty small yet, to be in the bigger car seat. She stays in the carrier when I unzip the end facing towards me -- she feels like she is free, but if I had to slam on the breaks she would still be inside the carrier. It has stiff sides so it provides a little home away from home for her. I stop every 2 hours for potty break and offer her water and food every hour. She does not seem to eat much of anything as we travel but I keep offering anyway. She usually will take a few sips of water. She will eat a treat so I make sure to still give her after-potty treat. I eat at fast food places where I can just eat from the car or when I take my son out, we choose restaurants with a patio. So far, they have all let me have Annie table-side as long as we were out on the patio. I don't really ask as much as I tell -- "It's okay if my puppy comes in, as long as she stays in her carier and we only eat on the patio, right?" Then they always just agree with me. She has been great in hotel rooms at night. I take along pee pads and a few baggies just in case. She also loves the football games. We had a warm one where I took a blanket and made her a shaded area beside me so that she would not get too much sun. But yesterday was cool, and she enjoyed the fresh air. She looked so pretty in her little dress. She also seems to thrive on all the extra attention she gets. Traveling with Annie is really no problem at all. I do have to consider her when I think about where to eat or what store I might go into. But she is so well-behaved, I could get by with taking her about anywhere. I do have a stealth carrier that she is not easily seen in, but I don't like taking her places where they do not want dogs. I have made the exception of sneaking her into Walmart, but I try to stay clear of the food section. ![]() I think you will be surprised at how well our little ones travel. I know I worried a little the first time. I did not want it to ruin the trip but I wanted to take her with me. I am glad I did!

| We're going from NS to Ottawa, for christams. it's 15 hours straight if you didn't stop. we're doing the trip in 2-3 days. Trust me it's not that hard. My mom lives 3 hours away and Harley handles that trip really well. he's been traveling around since he was like 3-4 months old. You should be fine if he is ok for an hour long trip. Is he wee pad trained or outdoor trained. My only concern when Harley didn't know how to go outside, was bathroom stops. i'd put him in his purse and bring him into the bathroom with me with a wee pad... but he would rarely go.. but even now that he goes outside he barely does pit stops. my only advice, is NEVER leave him in the car unsupervised.... there are too many of these babies getting stolen. We never leave Harley in the car (especially in the summer), we always have one person stay with him, or stop somewhere that he can come in (or at least that I can sneak him in his purse). Just if you have an Xpen or collapsable baby gate, bring it with you, in case he needs to be gated somewhere. I find when Harley comes with us, he gets sooo much attention that some times he just needs to be left alone in his play area for a while to sleep. Good luck. I definitely wouldn't board him if I were you, I love having my baby with me.
