| Do you ever deal with people like this? Ok, so I work at a Home Health agency as a biller, everyone here knows me as the crazy dog lady. Whatever thats cool, call me what you will. I only have 2 dogs, but I am crazy so thats all good. Anyways, when my coworkers found out I got Roxie a booster seat they all commented on how dumb it is to treat a dog like a human, blah, blah , blah. Well now they know I am going to be late to work in the morning because Roxie has her dental cleaning. Oh, I am catching h*ll from these idiots today, thinking its just hilarous that a dog is getting her teeth cleaned..WTH, I love my dog, and when you are that dogs caretaker, you are supposed to do whatever necessary to keep them as healthy as possible. So why am I catching the flack for it??? Sorry just had to vent! |

| People who are not animal lovers and who consider animals as just property and not part of the family will never understand how an animal lover feels. I worked with alot of people like that and I just ignore them. |

| I would just ignore them. They are the ones missing out on how wonderful it is to love AND be loved by a yorkie!

| All you can do is feel sorry for people like that. I suppose it makes them feel superior to make fun of you. They must be very small people to begin with!

We are in health care field also, so it makes complete sense to me to extend the same health care standards to my dogs as I would/do on my human family. In the long run, we save more money on preventative health care for our furbabies then others who choose/unable not to for their own reasons. They know at work I spoil my furbabies as I do my daughters and grandchildren no different and would not dare to call me crazy. They are envious really, I hear all the time I wish you were my mom! Of course we also provide dental care for our furbabies too, along with booster car seats for their safety. Your not alone! So please remember they are at the low end of the IQ bar of stupidity (not intelligence scale) and choose not to educate themselves. When you hear of them complaining of high vet cost due to lack of preventative care or doctor visits for their families, you can have a little smile inside saying I TOLD YOU SO by example. As I said at the beginning they are jealous/envious of your dedication, love and caring behavior to your furbaby.

| Ignore I would not only recommend as everyone has already said to ignore the comments but I wouldn't talk to anyone about your dogs either. Don't tell them why you are coming in late if you can avoid it and don't tell them if you get your dog something new either. It is difficult sometimes because you are excited if you get them something new I just got my bella her first booster and got some flack for it too, honestly I don't care because I care more about how much that little dog makes my heart melt and protecting her than how it hurts to be mocked by other people for it! I have a couple of friends that think it is hysterical how she is "the baby", I actually lay it on thick to them sometimes just to show them how much I don't care

| Like everyone has suggested, ignore these people. If you want to treat your baby like a baby, it is your perogative. I have a stroller, 3 carseats, tons of t-shirts, sweaters and coats, etc, etc, etc. lol If someone is going to make fun of me at how I spoil my dogs, I can for sure make fun of them spoiling their toddlers. They have tons of toys and clothes and high chairs, etc., etc, etc. See what I mean? Enjoy your baby and ignore the people who have no clue what these little ones bring to us, love, joy and happiness.

| Been there... both with Harley and my horses. I was the "Crazy horse lady" for a long time.... but now my friends just laugh. My friends however make fun of me for spending more on his haircut and supplies than I do for myself.

Sometimes it's just easier to respond to these kind of people with humor. I often say something like "you wish someone would treat you as well as I treat my dogs" or "I'm spending my kid's inheritence" or "Why shouldn't I spend my money on my family - they love me more than my teenagers do". Said in a fun happy way most people will back right off. Does anyone else have any "snappy" comebacks for this kind of situation? Teresa | |

Poppy's Mamma ♥ Donating Member | I totally get this. People laugh at me when they see how much I baby Poppy, but she IS my baby and I take good care of her! whats so funny about that? I also HATE it when people comment on her clothing if she is wearing any. I hate the whole "its a dog not a doll" or "its cruel to dress your dog up". NO whats cruel is putting your dog outside in the freezing cold when its raining or snowing WITHOUT any clothing on! she gets cold, I know this because she shivers.. so how can putting a coat on her when shes cold be cruel? I bet we treat our dogs better then half of those small minded folk treat their kids!
