| I can also relate. I take my vacations when I have a litter due and if they are a little early or a little late delivering I will call in and say I will not be in as I am delivering puppies. I have one manager that will totally bad mouth me and call me all kinds of names when I have done this (everyone tells me what he says). I just gloat a little more to him about all the beautiful babies that were born and how much fun I will have in watching them grow and develop. I also bring in pictures and make sure to show him. It totally irritates him and I love it.

| They're just jealous because you take better care of your dog than they do their kids! They'd really have a fit if they found out you were more on the norm.... what you mentioned you do are really the basics! I'd laugh and say 'If you think I'm crazy... MK bought her babies a pool for the summer! And KJC got hers a bicycle trailer for kids and converted it to fit her pups, so she can take them along on bike rides.... And Sunnie bought her pups an RV so she can keep them more comfortable at shows and when they travel!... And somebody spent a good amount of time on a trip to Europe trying to find the right kind of bottled water for her pups to keep them from getting sick!... And if you think they don't need shoes, stand barefoot in the middle of the road and see how long you last! And forgive me, I'm sooo bad with names.... another member found bicycle helmets for her two and they ride up front in a basket on her bike! Pink Helmets! We go boating and I needed to pick up another life preserver.... I saw (and this is waaay over the top) wet suits for dogs! Yes, I was tempted! Started looking for flippers for their feet! And don't forget the bikers who get their babies goggles to protect their eyes... not to mention all the leather biker dog gear available! Your co-workers must really be clueless when it comes to caring for a pet! I'd have pictures all over my desk of my baby in different dresses and outfits! Overload them with cute! (Eventually it will rub off on them) (unless they're all total Cavepeople!)

I explained it once and then advised - you either get it or you don't. If you don't; there is no point in discussing it further. Obviously they didn't understand- but I can come here where you guys do!

| I am known for being the dog lady at work also but I am in good company. Our Pom is getting neutered on Nov 10th and dh is taking the day off to take him and pick him up . I can not take the day off as I have to take too many sick days for myself. Dh did not hesitate to ask for the day off, though wether or not he told them the reason is another matter. I know he brags about his chi at work cause they tease him about not having "real man" dogs. They all have pit bulls, shephards, etc.

| I'm lucky!! I work in a nursing home as a nurse, and almost all of the nurses, the hair dresser, and the office staff bring their dogs to work. We have 2 pit bulls, two lab mixes, a dachsaund, and three yorkies So we are ALL crazy dog ladies!!

| I am SURE we treat our furbabies alot better than those weak minded, jealous, stupid people treat their kids. Just try and ignore their remarks and be confident in knowing you are a good mommy to your precious baby... |

| I'm sorry you had to deal with the flack about the dental cleaning. Most people just don't get it.When I was working at the elementary school everyone from the principal to the janitor and everyone in between KNEW that if I had a fur crisis that I would leave immediately and or take a sick day to take care of my "children". This included foaling the mares and whelping the bitches. Not many even dared to "go there" with me. Be assertive and rather aggressive about your position and they will back off. |

| Adding a ps to my comments.... Sometimes when we take off work to take care of our furkids, are afraid that we will catch flack. Our co-workers pick up on this and we get what we were afraid of. I always tried to be honest, open, and have the attitude - this is the way it is, deal with it. |

| I wish people had an ignore button. When the start to annoy you, you just walk up to them and push the button and they go away.

| I'm the crazy dog lady at work too I have my yorkie coffee mug, yorkie pad & pen and a photo of my guys at my desk. But if I need to take time off of work for one of my animals I call in sick for myself. That way no one will get mad. And as far as the stuff I get for them that is when I come on YT for, so my coworkers don't think I'm even crazier then I already am.![]() ![]() ![]()
