| would you help homless person with pet? There are 2 regular homeless people with dogs around my neighborhood whom I see almost everyday. I don't give them money, but I occasionally buy them food and pet food as well. One of the homeless guy's spot is corner of food emporium supermarket and people who work there told me not to buy him any food even for his dog, because it'll keep him depending on others who give him food. I just feel so bad for his dog, and can't help myself but to buy him some dog food. would you buy homeless person with a dog, pet food? or help him(his dog) in any other way? what would be the best way to help the dog with homeless person?

| i wouldnt, atleast not where I live. I have seen these "homeless" people (even some with dogs)... stand there, ask for food/money/work. Then I see a nice white BMW pull up, the "homeless' person gets in, and another gets out. Now, I have seen a homeless man with a dog at a mcdonalds one day, getting water for his dog. Unfortunately, I to only had about $10 to my name, so helping was not an option. I guess if the homeless person was 'legit' and I had the means to help, I would. |

| By buying them food you're not enabling any bad habit they have like alcohol or drugs so I see no problem with it. If I give anything to someone homeless it's always food or a drink, never money. I'm sure it's appreciated and in the end you're helping a pup |

| I would give him food for his dog and for himself and then I wouldn't question my motives afterward. If it feels right I do it no matter what. It's just a little food and it might make all the difference in the world to him and to his dog.

| In my downtown we have what I like to call really not homeless people. I am down there every day, I refuse not to give them money but I would give them food. I use to live downtown Cleveland and there was a really nice homeless man on the street I use to walk my Tucker. Except there was something fishy about him, he always had brand new clothes and shoes and an IPOD! Needless to say one day I saw him parking a lexus at a meter about one street away from his corner.

| I've given a homeless man I've seen around a few times a bag of treats for his dog. Where I live, there are people at EVERY intersection now. They usually collect for group places and things like that, which I unfortunately don't have a lot of money to give. So, whenever I see a person with a dog, I give them a bag of treats or a little bag of food if I have one. |

| I would give dog food or food to a homeless person. The fake homeless person thing reminds me of a story from when I worked at Starbucks. We used to have this extremely thin & dirty woman come in with scavenged cups 3 mins before we would close and try to get a "refill" of decaf. Then when we wouldn't have any she would complain(curse, scream and holler) and get it for free & get coupons for free drinks later. Some time later, I saw her leaving an outdoor festival toting a Louie and walking up to her Mercedes. Ya gotta have guts thats for sure.

Giving money isn't always helpful, for several reasons. But helping with a dog's food, in my opinion, is a wonderful thing to do...for both the person and the dog.

Donating YT 30K Club Member | Absolutely. On a recent trip to downtown Chicago I saw so many more homeless people than usual. There were women with children and men with dogs and it was so sad to see. The sad looks in the children's eyes and the dogs all looked so scruffy and sad. With the economy so bad it is just getting worse and worse. I feel that a few dollars here and there will not effect me but may mean a meal for someone, man, women, child or animal. If they are scamming me, then they sure do a good job of looking homeless.
