| OMG, thanks for sharing. I thought I did enough research and am just about to purchase PetPlan's Gold policy. You posted just in time. I'm going to have to start over and find Mocha another insurance. |

| Looks to me like she was trying to say £163.35 - but that would be awfully expensive. Hopefully Natasha will clarify the amount.

She is using the alt codes wrong, and it looks like her insurance is £35 a month.

Donating Senior Yorkie Talker | Before you rule out Petplan because of this experience, keep in mind that a large part of the problem was that there was no initial vet exam to rule out preexisting conditions. She probably would have had a similar problem with any other insurer. It's SO important to take any newly adopted dog to your vet within a day or two of the adoption. And bring from the breeder/shelter as complete a record of the pet's history as you can, including the manufacturers of all shots, worm treatments, etc. My vet told me that he needs to know the manufacturer of the worm treatment especially. From past experience with student insurance plans, I totally get why insurance companies insist on a clean health history - you wouldn't believe how many turn down coverage then try to bluster their way into a policy when they get sick. |

Petplan's Flexible Dog Insurance Policies I just went and checked my policy papers and my specialist co-pay percent is 20.

| I am sorry for your experience with Petplan. I wouldn't want your experience to discourage other Petplan policy holders though. I have Petplan and have used it numerous times. I've never had a problem. I recently had a full GI workup for Max which cost me near $800. Petplan reimbursed me with no questions asked and in a very reasonable amount of time. I've used it for things like hurt leg, eye infection, colitis for Lily, IBD for Max...all instances I've gotten my reimbursement without any problems.

| This is a bit disheartening. We were researching all the various plans but haven't made our final decision yet. I am back to wavering to just save save save to cover anything unexpected. But I worry because I know I will put us in the poor house if anything happens to one of our babies! Peggy, Monkey & Maddie

| So sorry you are having to go through this. It is a hassle now days to get anything done. Personally I think its better to put back money and save just for the dogs. Then, when something like a surgery or something major hits you have the money. This is what I have always done with mine and it just seems more simple than go through all you have to with some of these people that think they know what they are doing, and half of them don't even know their jobs. I have wondered if some of them can even read. Hope you get things worked out. Good luck. |
