Before you rule out Petplan because of this experience, keep in mind that a large part of the problem was that there was no initial vet exam to rule out preexisting conditions. She probably would have had a similar problem with any other insurer.
It's SO important to take any newly adopted dog to your vet within a day or two of the adoption.
