I was wondering the same thing. I agree that the posting over and over on thread after thread about this is getting old, getting harassing, and is completely disingenous. Some of us see it for what it is and have better things to do than preach to the choir.

I'm going to leave this thread now and go back to sick and injured where I might actually be able to help someone in need who really needs some compassion.

Your right and I am sitting here in tears. I have been pushed all day even some was deleted bashing me for posted to try to have some compassion here at Christmas. I started this for the right reasons. I know it but they keep stiring. Maybe instead of compassion I will do to others as they do to me..

The good feeling I had this morning posting this has been ruined. I just can't believe people can take something nice a twist it.. Sad but they won't bring me down. I am just so upset with this.

You're other thread is nice, I think some just took some of the posts on this thread as "preachy" rather than encouraging. I don't know about you, but I learn better from those who set a good example. Perhaps, we should ask God to give us the strength to see our own flaws, as easily as we find flaws in others.

I just want to say I am now sorry I posted anything. I did it with right reasons but alot didn't see that. I went from feeling good about it to crying tonight. I will just keep to reading. It's easier.. You never know what you can say. :(

It could have something to do with the fact that I was told in response to my (deleted) post that I shouldn't use this thread as my personal rant. Yet then, it became just that with the bombardment of posts pushing compassion and Christmas cheer. Not that I have anything against Christmas cheer, it's just that one or two posts on it would have been enough and then time to move on. Otherwise, it does come across to me (and apparently some others) as preachy (or worse, bullying). It's all in perception and not necessarily intent. The difference between a rant versus getting a point across seems to depend on which side of the discussion you are on.

I can only speak for myself when I saw this thread bumped up again this morning. The first thought that went through my mind was "great, here we go again with the not-so-subtle bashing". Following so closely on the heels of 2 locked and 1 deleted thread, I'm sure how you could understand why I might think that.

What one considers encouragement, another considers preaching. If I tell my kids the same thing over and over and over again (even if I have good intentions and am convinced I am completely right on something) sooner or later they are going to tune me out, and may even lash out just to get me to shut up (did I mention I have teenagers?:cool:) Again, it's all in our individual perceptions and biases- just like all those other threads.

Maybe now would be a good time for all of us to step away from this thread for awhile, until cooler heads prevail on everyone's part. I, for one, am going to try to find the Christmas Cheer thread to help keep me awake while I am waiting up to see the eclipse.

I believe you posted with good intentions. :) As was said, different people will perceive the same message differently. I am sure that many people read your posts on this thread and felt uplifted. Happy Holidays to all (and I mean that in a nice way, not a preachy way. ;p)

Sorry you felt that way. I had no intensions of bashing anyone. This was not directed at anyone. I just thought it was a good read and with Christmas stress levels maybe it would help. I just thought it was a good reminder and I loved some of the post that people had. I guess I guess I will just go back reading. I am really sad and hurt by all this. I don't know how a good thing got so twist.

I came to this board to LEARN...NOT to deal with DRAMA. I NEVER thought that I would have to deal with it here from a group of supposedly mature and professional dog owners...who apparently treat their babies better than they do their fellow human beings.

Also, why should anybody have to apologize for saying Merry Christmas or Happy Holidays?!?!?!?! It IS Christmas! It is ALSO the season for Hannukah, Kwanzaa, etc! EVERYONE should be able to have the freedom to say "Happy 'Whatever'". This IS America, remember. If someone doesn't celebrate Christmas, then let them post about the holidays they DO celebrate.

I do not know what the issues behind all the posts questioning WV~motives were, but: I believe that Merry Christmas and lets get along is just that.... a wish and a hope conveyed.

I understand your upset but please now that these broads are really great... And i also understand that sometimes people can be not so kind or come off that way.. BUT most everyone here has good intentions.. they really do.. I have been on YT for about 1 year and there are some posts that I just have to look over.. But your going to get that everywhere...

Yorkie Talk has helped me SOOOO much that I can' t even tell you... With out this place I would have been lost...

Pretty sad that you're a new member who has already had your head filled with lies about YT. You should report whoever told you theses untruths. YT is a great place, there is no better forum anywhere. Some even implode from within, but not YT.

See?!?!?! This is exactly what I am talking about! This prevailing attitude must go. It wasn't a "lecture". It was how I, as a human being, feel about how others treat others.

And, just to make it absolutely clear, nobody had to fill my head with lies about anything and nobody did. I have based my observaations on what others have posted publicly for ALL to see.

Well I thought your post was a lecture, and I wrote what I did because, it was how I, as a human being, feel about how you were treating others. (I'm borrowing your words). I thought it was a lecture, and in fact, it was bullying. And as for your observations, I think it is really remarkable you were able to only garner negativity about YT in your very short time here. Great observations, you must be a "glass is half empty" person rather than a "glass is half full" person. This forum is very positive and friendly and there is no reason why even you can't enjoy it.

Melissa, don't let them get to you. I find it simply amazing that a handful of people always tell someone what they really meant by what they posted.

I say what I mean and figure every one does the same so I take the words for what they are. So for those who always assume that others mean something other than what they wrote, I am guessing that is what those people themselves do.

We always tend to project our own feelings onto other people. If one is decietful they assume that everyone is. If one is angry they assume that everyone is, if one is vengeful they assume that everyone is.

Some people cannot imagine that one can disagree with someone else, and then just let bygones be bygones. So just keep waving your flag of truce. Most of us know that your intentions are good.

The following is from another YT member, I've edited it a bit, removed a few things since it pretained to another thread. But I find it appropriate.

Give me a break! What makes any of you think you are perfect? Who declared that your purpose on Earth is to dictate and control other people like that?! What makes you think that people should change according to what you all deem appropriate? "People are tired of it" and "I see it happen to much for MY liking" "Its the same people over and over". Well here's a hint, if you hate seeing the same posts from the same people USE THE IGNORE FEATURE. Problem solved, you never have to read a post from them again what a novel concept! Otherwise, if you hate it and are that miserable on YT because Heaven forbid, people don't post in the manner with opinions that YOU deem appropriate...well there's the door, hit the road. No one is forcing anyone else to be here. It's a choice.
