Have a wonderful holiday, everyone....and try to love your fellow man as much as you love your Yorkies :).

I only wish everyone loved disagreeing as much as I do (sob). But Woogie, WHO is that darling puppy in your avatar??

Jim has gone offline..but, I'll answer for him......that's Junior, Jim's show hopeful. Junior is from Jim's last litter, a litter that is very near and dear to his heart.

Wow -- reading all of your posts in just this one thread. Usually people are a member here for more than 10 days before they get quite so judgemental about the forum and all its members. Maybe such judgemental tones are really not the "kind and civil" manners you are requesting from others? Maybe taking just a snapshot in time from the forum is not giving the membership a fair evaluation? Remember the posts about ignoring things that really bother you? Maybe you will put me on ignore for saying this but I am trying to think of how you could look at this differently and not seem so personally offended and upset. Try to look past the small stuff and see the bigger picture. For every negative there are a hundred positives!! That is often true of the individual as well as the site in total. Concentrate on those positives and you may come to love this place and its members as much as most of us do. :)

BTW -- I think I had confused new members and you are not looking for a puppy now -- sorry about the confusion. I have often mistaken one member for another or thought a member reminded me of someone else. Sometimes I have even found they are another person! But I am usually late to pick up on those kinds of things. I even call my sons by each other's names -- so confusion is not always limited to the forum.

Everytime I read a thread such as this I am reminded of one of your threads. A thread I recommend for everyone to read.

Well that is sad. Out my entire post, the line you put in red is what you focused on? Really?
Have a Merry Christmas JeanieK.

Usually you see Matthew 7:1 quoted about judging not, but I like John 7:24 "Judge not according to the appearance, but judge righteous judgment." or if you use the New Living Translation "Look beneath the surface so you can judge correctly." or the NIV: "Stop judging by mere appearances, and make a right judgment."

But enough of that -- I don't want to be judging anyone right now. I have planned to have a good positive day. I was hoping I could help others maybe look at things from a different perspective. That is not always possible but it need not spoil our outlook or ruin what is promising to be a great day. Gotta run for now -- things to do and fun to have! I'll probably check in later.

Rock on YorkieTalk!

That's interesting. I got the idea you like to argue when you really didn't care one way or another. Normally, that wouldn't be such a bad thing, but arguing just for the sake of arguing, when others feel so strongly about many of the problems affecting the breed and the forum seems a little like "spot stirring". Not saying you shouldn't do it, but just saying that others should be aware of your own admission. It's so easy to debate well, when we aren't emotionally invested.

So true - a couple of hours on a thread with you and I need to knock myself in the head with a hammer...you might have one I could borrow unless you need it for other purposes. Merry Christmas!

I wouldn't quite say that. I don't argue just to be the devil's advocate. I comment on topics of interest to me, and I do feel passionately about dog welfare. I wouldn't debate something just for the thrill of the argument. For me though, disagreeing with someone doesn't mean "I hate you", it just means, "I'm not convinced." I come from a scientific background, and for me, disagreeing is part of learning and being open minded.

That being said, I know that sometimes I dispense with the areas I DO agree on, and focus just on the parts I don't, and I think that can give people the impression that I don't respect them.

I also feel strongly that people should always try to be civil to each other, and it's been hard for me to accept that YT isn't always like that. But things don't have to be perfect for them to be wonderful.

I have always been upset when people tell others to be "ashamed of themselves." Those are very unkind words. I have always admired Barney, because she's one of the vendors that does have strong convictions, and isn't on YT just to sell stuff. So YT isn't just a business venture for her. BRAVO!

Buster Brown 12-21-2010 11:26 AM

:thumbs_up It was not long before I realized there was a history with many here as well as anywhere else in life. What is posted does not always reflect the whole story. There is often a "between the lines" intent, "left-over" grudges, alterior motives, or sometimes just such a long list of previous "axes ground" that it is difficult to read the words for themselves. Not speaking of any particular individual or thread -- just saying don't be too quick to make decisions about members. The stories are often long and entwined. I don't want this to sound too negative. It is just a fact of life and not something unique to this forum. We have the best of the best here and it is well worth the time to determine who they really are.

Good....but, one has to know my dear Donna's twisted mind and learn how to read between her lines to get the jest of what's she's really conveying.

And it has nothing to do with anyone's religious beliefs.

No, I'm wise. I can see she's heeding advice from this thread.

It always amazes me how someone scolds someone because of their convictions, how they answered, telling them how to behave and in doing so.....they are doing it themselves with nastiness and venom.

Sadly we have seen way too much of that lately. People telling others how to behave and berating them .. yet, they don't see their own words as harsh.
This entire thing is just about that other thread .. it was NOT started to spread good cheer and/or be compassionate. It is about some people pointing their fingers at who they see as mean and/or bullies, yet they don't see that they are themselves acting just as badly or worse than what they are accusing others of being.
This all started over a bad breeder thread...and sorry if it offends some, but that thread was on target. That ad for that puppy was disgusting and if the breeders who are friendly with that breeder want to stick with her, it tells me more than I want to know about them as well. She was not bashed...the truth was laid out for all to see; but since she is friends with certain people it was deemed a bashing. And...for how many days has this carried on?
Seriously people...it really should stop now. You cannot sit and talk trash and thinly veil it with words of compassion. It's like putting lipstick on a pig.

You as a business owner should have more respect for others than you are showing here in your posts.
I personally will not purchase anything from you again after seeing the callous way you treat people and I'm sure some others feel the same way.
Putting yourself in the middle of controversy and ranting about people is plain and simple bad business practices. Wishing you a misanthropic day.

Merry Christmas

I think it is pretty low for you to insert yourself into my business which is none of yours. But since you brought it up, let's talk about my business. You are not required to purchase from me nor is anyone. But, you'd be missing out. Many vendors here look up to my business practices and some have even asked to work with me. I have some of the most favorable seller reviews on YT, treat my customers very nicely and make beautiful items with my bare hands. My business is donating a portion of our pajama proceeds this holiday season to Yorkie Haven Rescue, and although they don't know it yet, I am making a personal match. I guess they know it now.

Very true. Some of the people on here that are being called angry or nasty are the most helpful members in this forum always going out of their way to help someone in sick or injured or a new member needing help or advice about something. People really need to take the time to get to know all members new and old for themselves

You are not one to hold your tongue, sacrifice you convictions or beliefs for the sake of the almighty dollar. Now if you did that, I would question your integrity.

I usually *try* to stay out of all of this- but I do want to say one thing.

Cathy is one of the best sellers here on YT- beyond the fact that her items are beautiful and top quality- her service is one of a kind. She goes above and beyond to make sure that the items are exactly what you wanted. She went WAY out of her way to make sure a diaper I ordered fit Chloe, taking back one that was already made and making me a totally new one free of charge- when it wasn't her fault at all that it hadn't fit the first time. Aside from her business, she is very active here and always willing to help someone or stand up for what she thinks is right.

I truly hope everyone has a nice Christmas- I am heading to the movies with the rest of the Jews ;)
