I would add to that that the Biewer is recognized as it's own breed by other registries and that it is shown in other venues as well.

I am so glad I crack you up, lol! I do own yorkshire terriers from ytca members and would not show or breed a one of them. Infact they are altered, but I was given full breeding rights to them. So just because someone has their name as a member on the ytca website does not mean they are not a BYB!

There are supposedly 4500 biewers in the US. They are recognized by rare breed associations. I just don't understand why it is frowned upon to use rare as a description.

I did ask AKC for the number of partis registered, they even agreed to send it to me. Told me it would cost 200.00 to get the number of partis registered from year 2000 to the present until the YTCA put a stop to it.....they sent my money back and told me I had to go thru the YTCA and guess what the ytca said?

Well at least you are responsible and altered them And again, no club is perfect as in life outside a club or any organization but at least it's a starting point for a reputable breeder. I know I can sleep at night and all I can do is try and educate members and people outside the membership as it's my ethics and morals Maybe if you start and looking for the good that YTCA stands for maybe you can start opening up your mind to those that do right and look out for this wonderful breed.

I can't speak for the YTCA as a whole but I can speak from my standpoint...I'm not afraid of the Parti's in the least. As long as it's a DQ and a color fault I will uphold the standard and defend it. All dogs are sweet, adorable and deserves a wonderful loving home. But when you deviate from a standard that is set for a particular breed it is one's responsiblity to hold it true and do their best to breed to the best representation of that particular breed whether it be yorkies or another breed.
When you knowingly take a parti carrier into the AKC show ring you are the one not holding true to the breed just for a title aka CH in front of it's name, just like someone taking in a cripple, one with health issues it's wrong and shouldn't be done but you have to live with yourself not me. I know at least when I am in the show ring with my yorkies I've done everything I can to uphold my standards and the yorkie standard and with health of the utmost importance and live with myself and sleep at night knowing I'm doing right

Color is not a health issue nor does it make them a cripple.
Thats like saying all redheaded people are cripples because of the color of their hair.
Color does not make a Yorkshire Terrier, color should be the least of the worries when it comes to showing or breeding

I can honestly tell you I do not know and again to be perfectly honest I don't care as I never heard of Parti's until I came to YT....they are pet quality in my opinion and I don't care if they are registered or not. Not to be mean but that's how I feel

but with yorkies and the standard, color does matter in the show ring. If it's not suppose to be there then it's not suppose to be there. It's simple, it's black and white. If I had a nice pretty black and tan yorkie I still wouldn't take it to the show ring because it's NOT correct and that is color, it's a pet and would be placed in a pet home and if I ever had a parti yorkie in my litter it would be placed in a pet home and the dam and sire be spayed and neutered and I would start completely over because it's not what the standard calls for can't get more plain than that It's called conforming to the standard and upholding what the standard calls for.

You should concern yourself with the bad breeders in the ytca. It is a joke when color is more important to the health issues of a breed! Especially since "most" of the yorkshire terriers in the ring have enhanced coloring of some kind, lol. I just might have to share the secret color recipe for the parti carriers who will be showing.
